Davies Craig Oil Cooler (with Fan) Prices and Where to Buy

I have got myself a nice set of Tin's brackets and just need the oil cooler to connect it all up.

Interested what people are paying for this and where they got it from:

Thanks AJ, rang the Thebarton store and its not on sale as not a usual stock item. The quoted $245 to get one in.

Hi MLC , I have been talking to folk about this and a couple of people with scangauges I've talked to reckon they have checked since installing cooler and there's no need to buy fan yet as extra cooling not needed as per at temp gauge..
Been researching but haven't installed one yet . Just looking and talking to people .

Hi MLC
I recently purchased the Davies Craig DC0698 kit from,
Outlaw Speed Shop
They are now located on Grand Junction road, Rosewater.
They had the item listed on eBay with free delivery. When quoted in store it was less than the buy it now price, obviously discounting the "free" postage for personal shoppers. Think it was about the $175-$178 mark.

hi I just got one from the wreckers from a F250 perfect fit next to a/c condenser about 250mm x 300mm cost me 40$
running in line, before the factory cooler in radiator to ensure it does not over cool/ keeps optimal temp for transmission,
I would not worry about a fan

Get a factory one from a V6 from a wreckers will bolt straight into factory position no stuffing around or modifying. We are talking tranny cooler arnt we ??

I agree with Matt here. I have a transmission cooler and fan installed on my 120.
I also have scanguage installed so I can monitor my trans temps. I noticed a good 20-22 degree drop in trans temps after installing my cooler. It certainly made a big difference in the soft sand on places like Fraser and Moreton Island I found it kept the transmission a lot cooler.
I reckon in all but the slowest 4wding where you have little airflow of the cooler, a fan is mostly unnecessary from my findings so far.

Steve, good idea but I have the brackets nowso may as well go new.

Robert, yep, a few people have said the fan is unnecessary including someone I wont name but trust a lot. So DC678 it is.

I have the CD cooler without the fan, never gets above 75 deg. Even when towing th van on hot days. I wouldn't bother with the fan

Ok, installed the unit but not plumbed up yet. Had to remove the non genuine horn so I put back the original ones.... Bloody things don't work now.......
