Getting the right UHF aerial that won't break

I have a GME AE4704 and 4705, crikey hire use them on the hire cars that live on the Gibb river rd and bungles. The only problem on the smartbar is the mount will not hold the 4705 on corrugated roads, I think it would snap the bar in 30 seconds bit the short stick is fine.
