Wiring tweeters

I have some type R Alpine 6x9s and some type R tweeters to replace the stock ones. The component type speakers I've used before have had a crossover with 2 wires for the amplifier in, 2 for the woofer out and 2 for the tweeter out. These crossovers only have ample in and tweeter out. Anyone know how these should be wired. I have a 4 channel amp that I plan to run the 4 speakers. If I run the crossover in parallel with the front speakers will this overload that channel of the amp.
