I suspect the feature will appear on the new model (180 Series) as this would be due 2019 / 2020.
That would suck...
Looks like things like Corolla and RAV are in, Hilux and... 'others', are out.
I'm interested to see what happens. The standard system is not total rubbish, but can certainly be improved!
My favourite subject again and main complaint since buying a new Prado in 2015. Apologies to those fed up with me going on about this again but I am going to anyway!
Toyota admit that this is their biggest customer complaint yet they have been and seem still reluctant to do anything about it.
As for the head of Toyota Australia sales and marketing announcing that this would “add further convenience and functionality to the already sophisticated multimedia system” makes me laugh.
I wonder if he had a smile on his face as he said it? how he could think that out of date maps with the one streaming service originally included but now discontinued could be called "sophisticated" is beyond me, but it does looks like they are finally having to provide the facilities enjoyed as standard by many cheaper makes.
The price for the "upgrade" which really should be called bringing the system up to what everyone expects will be interesting. Lets hope it isn't like Mazda's $495 which seems scandalous as for this price you could buy a new head unit powered by android and be able to run whatever software you want. Another rant over lol
