  • New Prado digital speedo lower half faint

New Prado noticed the digital speedo display lower half of the digits is faint compared to top half. Do you have the same issue?

makes no difference when lights are on or off.

don’t believe the LCD is faulty, as other menu screen display works fine on the same physical space.

Report your concern through Toyota Care (or MyToyota) - give them a call. With my luck, it would fail completely when the car was just out of warranty. If you report a problem, even if they won't do anything, you have created a history for the (possible) defect and will have a better chance of getting it replaced, should it fail.

Did you have your 1000km/1 month review booked?

            Not yet.
I checked another Prado and it has exactly the same issue. It is one or two years old and a GXL

I had Prado FY18 and now FY21. None of them have that issue. Please check with service

Had the one month check done and showed the service department person the digital speedo. He said that is normal and they are all like that.
can anyone post a photo of the digital speedo from a recently manufactured 150 please?

OnOz, sorry mate that I misled you, it was my bad. I have never noticed that difference in that digit display intensity myself. I just took photos and I am confirming that you are right saying that lower part of digital speedo is dimmer. The display intensity is even for other screens though. I hope you will not be selling your car for that reason and will be enjoying it as most of the people on this forum (and me as well). Please refer to images attached.

thanks for that. Glad to see its normal. Was not wanting the dash pulled out in the future if it was to fail.

I’m looking forward to driving it once COVID allows.
