gps indash update

Hi guys. About 6 months ago I purchased a 2012 Altitude. Its Great. But I had read on this site that toyota gave free GPS updates while under
warranty. Toyota deny this. Is there a solution to paying hundreds of dollars for Toyota to do an update??
