Aha ... some light at the end of the tunnel.

Now Mick, if we had our speed sensor wire hooked up we would have known that ... even when we were in the tunnel

    Cheers

If you have a closser look at the back of your head unit there is this 5 pin white connector taped up with the rest of the harness but when connected to the car harness with the black connector the mating pins are not there. This is on the GXL TD 2005 I am not sure about the other models. :?

Glad that got cleared up! I guess its only on the factory units.

Do you have a copy of the vehicle wiring diagram? I have 2005 petrol and complete wiring diagram so if its any help I can have a look at it for you?

Hi, how did you manage to get a copy ofthe wiring diagram? I think the ecu pin out will be different on the TD.

Contact at Toyota.

My diagram says SPD signal is Violet with red trace, PIN 13 on block B,

              Does this help?

Did anyone get to the bottom of this? I have a 2005 GXL Petrol and I just purchased a Pioneer DMH-Z6350BT unit and it needs a signal from the speed sensor to help with GPS speed accuracy, thanks Craig

                  Hi Guys,
The GPS speed sensor wire output from the ECU is typically located near the main wiring harness or the engine control module. It may vary depending on the specific vehicle make and model. Consult the vehicle's service manual or contact the manufacturer for precise location information.
