    Re: Toyota GPS SatNav

does anybody know if the Headunit out of a 2005 Grande will work in the 2003 Grande. The reason I ask is I have an option of purchasing one out of a car that was recently written off, fire damage but not the interior.

What I am not sure about is the connectors and the DVD unit to control the GPS

Hi richo they don't like you adjusting your GPS while driving in case you stack your rig
and than try to blame them, even my navman don't approve of any adjustments while
driving ! if they stopped those mobile user the same way while driving it would be a
lot safer out there as well that's a undeniable fact even those trees would breath
          a lot easier , regards drecked .

Yes, the previous owner had a reverse camera installed.

I have not been teempted to pull the stereo out as I don't have any reason to, just in case I break anything. So I can't tell you much. The reverse image automatically comes on when reverse gear is selected.

The camera fits on a bracket and screws to the underside of the number plate holder. There is a camera that replaces one of the number plate lights which I have seen on ebay. I think a few PP members have that camera. I think that is the neater way to go compared to mine. You can't adjust the angle but it is at a good enough angle.

if you make a backup copy you should burn it at 4X speed and it will work perfectly in any model . the 03 grande has the dvd unit under the seat ,the 05 model the reader is incorporated in the head unit . i have ver 17 . pm me .

Thanks kav but I'm not too tech savvy, my 03 grande satnav keeps locating me out to sea off the central coast. I've tried to recalibrate the gps and even bought new disc off whereis! But it keeps losing its location Does anyone know if there is a reset button? my other dilemma is wether or not my UHF interferes with the sensor. I have it mounted next to my head unit. The manual says this may affect operations does anyone else have this prob? It has been working great but like the rest of ppers if it doesn't work properly it just gives me the s--ts
