The manual says this may affect operations does anyone else have this prob? It has been working great but like the rest of ppers if it doesn't work properly it just gives me the s--ts2005 Prado TD Grande, 2 inch lift, Powerful 4x4 Rooftop Tent rack, 120w LED light bar, Ironman Snorkel, Leigh's Voltage Booster, Airbag Man Airbags, Homemade Drawers with MSA dropslide, Pacemaker 3 inch exhaust system, Performance EGT gauge, Safari Dtronic Chip

It all works but its all pretty random in terms of location, which is a problem!! theres got to be a reset procedure somewhere. I went to a Toyota dealership and they suggested a new system and that the disc I bought was wrong. Given that it's from the same place that Toyota gets theirs??? Needless to say I just left. I'm hoping that other pper's might be able to help. You can move the location but it reverts back to sea after the ignition is turned off. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated!

if you have nero , go into data dvd create a backup and burn it at 4x speed . you need an 8.5 gb dvd+r disc . takes about 15 mins to do .03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

Im sure it's something simple. wish i had a cheap $99 nav man much less complicated and cheaper than the whereis disc.

I have to figure how to burn a backup disc as I am pissed that the-original failed, don't want to get caught like that again.2005 Prado TD Grande, 2 inch lift, Powerful 4x4 Rooftop Tent rack, 120w LED light bar, Ironman Snorkel, Leigh's Voltage Booster, Airbag Man Airbags, Homemade Drawers with MSA dropslide, Pacemaker 3 inch exhaust system, Performance EGT gauge, Safari Dtronic Chip

My wife drives a Lexus 2007 with the factory GPS/Sound system, and the same lockout of the GPS derives us crazy as well. (You (1) cannot program a new destination into the GPS whilst the car is moving, ...or (2) play the DVD whilst moving, which is fine).
I find it particularly galling because they "know" when a passenger is in the 2nd seat, via the seat belt sensor, so why not just use that information.
Anyway the following website gives a solution for the Lexus unit, and you may find what they have to say useful?

I have no idea if it has any relevance to your Prado unit.
