This picture wouldn't happen to have been taken at Regency TAFE? The building looks similar

She's all back together now ready for another job tomorrow. I'm going to attack an old steel cage I've been holding onto and cut it down to make it a bit shorter and lighter. At 2.2m long and I dunno what weight, I want to make it easier to load onto the roof myself.

After that, it's wait for payday to grab a set of Outback recovery points. Hopefully they will be installed next weekend.

I forgot to mention that a set of AMTS spacers were added about 10 minutes after it first pulled up in the driveway.

So today I thought I had better start the additions in readiness for the GTG in a few months.

The 2nd battery was successfully installed today. I picked up a Pirahna battery tray from TJM and had it installed first. I'm lucky I kept my battery and Red Centa management unit from the last ride, so that saved forking out for a new one.

The photos below will be in no particular order but the description will explain the procedure. First I ran 7m of 8 B&S cable from the battery along the passenger chassis rail to the rear grommet. Getting through this was a bit time consuming, but I didn't need to split it so there should be a good seal.
I then ran the cable up past the jack, over the wheel arch and into the base of the storage tray. I've drilled a 12mm hole in the base so I should be able pass all the cabling through this to wherever I need to. Once this was attached and terminated, it was back to the engine bay to install the battery management unit.
This was pretty straight forward with the firewall chosen to hold the unit. I wold have liked to use a nut and bolt but instead a couple of self tapping screws will do the job. They held pretty well at the last trip to Bendleby so I don't mind trusting them again.

I took my time with this one as I didn't want the install to stand out, so all up it took me 4 hours. 30 minutes of that was spent trying to stop a bleeding finger that got in he way of a stanley knife. Lol, Every time I work on a car I end up with some sort of injury.

    Gramps 05 GXL

Well after the disaster that was my last Prado (re: Ouch), it was time to re-enter the fold.

On Friday 8/6/12 we picked up our 2005 silver GXL diesel auto.

Accessories with purchase: Alloy bar, Cooper Discovery ATR's, upgraded rear springs(no lift) and airlines where airbags had been fitted. Nice of him to take the airbags and leave me with just the lines, oh well at least that's a job that's half done.

First thing fitted that afternoon was a set of Rhino Rack commercial bars.

    Accessories when bought:
IPF lights, Sovereign bar, cargo barrier.

    Installed:
2nd battery, Rhino Rack commercial bars, GME TX3450 UHF radio, outback Ideas recovery points, single drawer, Dobinsons/Bilstein 2" lift, rear door fold down table, ARB CKMA12 air compressor.

    Wish List:
3rd Rhino bar, air bags, front and rear lockers, Lightforce HID's, fridge slide, LED interior lights, AMTS bash plates, winch, Autotunze head unit with reverse camera, plus whatever else I can sneak past the wife.
