    Hi Guys,

Well.... change of plans haha! I ended up taking a deposit for the Prado over the weekend. Thankfully to someone who appreciates Prados and has owned a few himself. He got a great deal and I'm sure he'll be happy with it. He picks it up around new years.

Will have to post up a picture of the new rig when i get her. Will take a bit of time as I'm hoping to get the lift and tyres engineered prior to rego which looks like a bit of a process!

    Talk soon

It is a pity no one was willing to pay what it deserves mate. But better keeping it then giving it away I think. Looking forward to seeing it with more work done to it!

As you know the Prado has been on the market - only for a few weeks. As it seems no one is really willing to pay a dollar over what a standard one in worth which is fine. It's just not meant to be

So i've decided to hold on to it for now. I've been searching for more power and storage (hence why i was looking to upgrade) so i am now going to look at chip, exhaust, get the 285's on and see how we go. All going well, may look at a camper too - Just trying a few options at the moment with quick setup tents etc but nothing would beat the storage of a camper trailer.

Look forward to hanging around on here and hopefully still meeting up with some PP members soon.

Ah Matt, so sad but I half expected it. While I didn't look too heavily at the dual cab 70's, what I know of them, comfort doesn't spring to mind. But maybe that has changed with the 79 series?

Thanks Madkore. 70 series dual cab is on the cards... owned a 200 series in the past and not quite what i'm after. Looking to go down the path of a tougher rig, in a ute form with a alloy canopy setup for touring

Add $1000 to your offer and they're yours but i'd rather keep them for now

Whoa - didn't see that coming. One of the best rigs on PP with some very enviable mods.

Good luck with the sale - I can't see it hanging around long.

What are you moving on to? 200 series would be my guess...

P.S. I'll offer you $200 for the ARB Intensity Spots :-)

    G'day Guys,

After a lot of research and thinking time, i've decided instead of spending any more $ on the Prado and chasing more power, bigger wheels etc, i should just move on.

So she's now on the market as is except a few items that i can easily transfer to another 4wd. Probably a bit overpriced but i thought i'd see what interest i get.

I may start splitting most of the mods from the sale (except the bar work) e.g. drawers, wheel carriers etc if i think it's worth doing. Feel free to contact me if your interested in anything may be we can work out a deal.

Hi Ron, not yet. Haven't really had a need for them. I mainly do touring lately. Hence why I haven't bothered with a winch

    Hey Matt,

Do you have any after market recovery points fitted to your chassis?

    Cheers,

With the 285's as around town driving/highway (I drive mine everyday for a work truck on a Pacific Highway Road project) actual figures at the pump hover between 11.2-11.5lts/100kms

How much room is there between the UCA and the rim currently? With ET15 offset rims I have about 25mm clearance, so surely with ET25 (standards) they should fit...

Jump into my build thread, there is a picture in there of the clearance.

vxcruiser, its a 120 so I imagine the only real significant difference would be that my 1300kms is over ~160 litres (whenever I drive til empty there is always at least 15-20ltrs still in the tank)

You should consider selling your original rims to offset the price.

I did it with mine and was out of pocket a couple of hundred.
