Is that a 150 rorza? I reckon once i installed the 2 spare wheels on to the kaymar bar it impacted the fuel economy. So with 2 x 285's i wonder what the weight difference is? I imagine all the weight sitting so far back does not help. I do live in a very hilly country area though which makes it worse.

With my 285s and all the extra gear I carry full time (alloy roof rack, drawers, dual batteries) i get just under 1300kms from full tanks, just as a guide, would be good to hear if anyone with similar tyres has any figures.

Oh i do mate, definitely don't feel as manly in a fiesta!Originally posted by jonoxplor View PostYou'll miss driving the prado daily!
Haha yes yes they would... stop it!!Originally posted by Madkore View PostBut they would look oh so awesome!
What tyres you got your mind on? The new Mickey Thompson's? BFG Muddies?
Would be interested to hear feedback on how 285's may impact fuel economy too. I guess I didn't do the 3" lift and all the pain with getting it right for nothing. It's a painful process deciding on rims, not to mention they're price!
Still not sure on tyres, it's amazing the opinions and stories on the internet. Some say 20k from a set of MTZ's (also my experience on a 200 series, i didn't rotate them though) and some say 40k which i'd be happy with! MTZ's seem to be smoother on the road, as they're softer but obviously wear quicker.
The BFG's go hard as a rock, and ride rough (also from experience) but they're much cheaper and last longer!Last edited by vxcruiser08; 09-09-2014, 07:01 PM.

Got my $800 credit from coopers to buy new ones. Also tossing up how much fuel i'd be using with 285's is worth paying the extra $ as she's pretty heavy on the juice with all the weight these days. 285s also means i need new rims etc too. Expensive exercise!

Thanks for the comments guys!
Bought it early last year, It was 12 months old with about 45,000 kms. I've done 60,000 kms over a period of about 18 months. Hence why I bought a daily driverOriginally posted by mybo View PostAwesome build up mate. How long to do your 100,000k's? less than 3 years?

Hi Guys,
Just thought i'd update my thread...
I've been looking at new tyres/wheels at the moment since my coopers are starting to crack up. Got my $800 credit from coopers to buy new ones. Also tossing up how much fuel i'd be using with 285's is worth paying the extra $ as she's pretty heavy on the juice with all the weight these days. 285s also means i need new rims etc too. Expensive exercise!
I spoke to a friend who is a sales manager for redback exhausts, hoping for a good deal and potentially a chip. This should hopefully help it move a little better and use less fuel, I drive quite conservatively.
Had the ARB LED's installed in the bullbar hopefully no more blown bulbs! (Not pictured below)
ARB has ordered me a new wheel carrier as per previous pages one of them was definitely bent from the factory.
Finally can let the old girl rest a bit as I bought a daily driver, she has ticked over 100,000 kms now.
Anyway, Stay tuned

Hi Geoff,Originally posted by jubozy View PostHey Matt
Great setup :-)
Just wondering what size fridge you got in the back and what size MSA fridge slide you have/had before it fell apart?
I've got the Drifta's (love em) in my 150 with a cargo barrier but I haven't yet installed my MSA 40 drop-down slide. Currently I've got an Evakool 60l but this won't fit in the back so that will stay in the CT, so looking around for a new fridge that will fit..
Cheers
Geoff
Thanks, it's a 50L Waeco and I think it's a 50L fridge slide, could be 60? Either way it's rattling around in the back still as i haven't got around to trying to fix it yet. Drives me nuts.
If i was going to do it all again i just would have got the built in drifta flidge slide which is originally what I ordered. Would just have to deal with standing on the rear bar and accessing fridge that way!
thanks mate!Originally posted by r2d2 View PostWow what a awesome rig. Thanks for sharing. Lots of the add ons is what I have been looking at.

vx how much for the extendable panhard rod? With my 2" lift the diff sits ok but I can understand the need when you go 3"+.
