Thanks for the comments. I tested the Intensity's properly last night and they are quite unreal in terms of how much they flood and spot altogether. I don't completely understand why they went a 6500K temperature and you just lose a bit of light IMO due to the depth of "blueness". The distance is actually quite far but it's quite a blueish light so it's not very bright, however does easily light up reflectors and the eyes of wildlife extremely well in the distance. So i think i'm happy.. i am hard to please though.
Thanks for that Greenie, ARB rang me Monday night and told me the same. Seems they didn't even know. However my Mechanic had a shot at it yesterday and he thinks there may be a slightly bent arm so i'll have a go myself if i get time and see what I can do. Otherwise Kaymar will be hearing from me only because of how much the thing cost me i want it to be bang on!
misaligned wheels on the rear bar are simple to fix. Just need to undo locking bolts holding the whole assembly to the arm and slide in or out as required. They're made to be adjustable to suit different sizes of tyres.
I'm running both my IPF HID's as pencil beams now. The LED bars great spread would have washed out any impact that the HID's would've had. The pencil beams provide more light directly further up the road making it for me, the perfect combo.
Awesome work Matt! Interested in how much throw the ARB Intensity Spots have once you get them set up properley. Do the wash out the Auruora bar?
Thanks Craig, When I drove the other night they were definitely pointed down way too much so the light bar (which is combo beam) was actually pointless. So when I was parked up against the shed tonight while trying to figure out how to mount 4 x Jerry can holders (to hold 4 x 10L jerries) and I did some slight adjustments. Yet to test... so tired and can't be stuffed going for a drive! will let you know mate, i'm sure if i had a 40" i'd be OK although i'd go a flood now, not combo beam. Which beam do you have?
I dont have a first born but would trade if I did. Looks mint.
Haha easy fellas! If your kids live with you be thankful as they are only young once. I wish i could see my boy every day. He lives in sydney and he's only 2 1/2. I look forward to when he's old enough to take on these camping trips with me.
Got the dual wheel carriers, hilift jack holder, jack fitted. Bigger job than I thought, they kept my car overnight. Also had the 2 x ARB led intensity "spot" lights fitted. So far wow i can't believe how much flood for the "spot" version. Need to adjust them properly and I'll report back.
Impressed with the wheel carriers, no rattles and extremely well built. Unfortunately the wheels dont line up straight next to each other which is really bothering me. Not sure if ill have time to take this back before I depart to the simpson this friday.
Had the water watch alarm system installed yesterday. Seems to be a much better option than fuel manager, although costs twice as much but makes sense in terms of proper water monitoring and no changing of filters etc. My mechanic did a great job and got around the challenge of where the compressor was located so I'm happy!
It has an LED light and alarm inside the cab. It does a prestart check and tells you that she's online ready to monitor. After spending the money you kind of feel like you want to get water in the system now to make the purchase worthwhile.
Looks tops,
I like the silver colour and the bar work looks great.
I did our 150 much the same and happy with the Drifta setup, however I have reversed the layout and as a result can have the table out and the fridge down at the same time.
I used the rear bar for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it offers excellent protection under extreme off road conditions. You'll be happy with the Kaymar. It protected the rear well down at Yalwal.
Thanks for the comments guys. She's starting to come together. I have a problem with my list of "final" mods though, it seems to be expanding on a weekly basis I am very much looking forward to departing on easter friday to the Simpson, central oz and QLD and putting it to the real test instead of the fortnightly overnight camping trips!
Though it was already, the latest mods make this my fav 150 and exactly how I'd set one up if I were to ever upgrade.
New spotties - I'm guessing some new ARB Intensity LED's? Will make me even more envious!
Thanks Madkore! How did you know!? Haha, yes I love the Intensity's. Should've just done it from the start but i pulled out last minute due to a chance of moving into my local town and didn't want them getting stolen as it would have to be parked outside. Anyway still on a farm so i'm not too bothered now. I will be getting the 2 x spot version as the light bar will be the flood.
Great build-up mate, the 150 is looking very nice.
Gotta say though that you're too hard on your photographic skills!! - these are great shots of the rig mate!
Yes. Mine rattles although it is a great slide. When you find the fix post it up.
I don't know how you deal with it, will definitely be getting on to it and let you know! My local ARB dealer said they know a fix so they'll do it for me when I get the rest of the kaymar bar done next week.
