Ok so I was just about to place an order for the Runva EWX9500-Q winch with Dyneema Rope.
    http://www.runvawinch.com.au/winches...q-competition/
But now Ive got second thoughts might get the Runva EWX9500 (minus the Q) winch with Dyneema Rope for $100 less.
    http://www.runvawinch.com.au/winches...runva-ewx9500/
Anyone had any experience with any of these. Want to stay with Runva as there warranty covers water. (Even warn doesn't do that)

Well I have just been down to my Toyota dealer and ordered a winch cradle. Should be here on Thursday. I decided to go with Runva EWX9500 with Dyneema Rope instead of the Q variant which is also on order (free delivery)
Have held of on the Snorkel nearly fell over when TJM quoted there price I guess it will have to stay on the list for now.
Bit sad when a winch with delivery can cost less than a piece of plastic like a snorkel.

Well Winch cradle turned up so I decided to put it all on. Why wait for the weekend? I didn't want to disconnect all the wiring from the bar but I also didn't have anything to hold the bar up once I'd unbolted it. After a bit of thought I decided to use a tree in front yard. (got some looks from the people across the road )
Anyway pushed the nose of car up to tree strapped it up to the tree and undid all the bolts then I rolled the car back just enough to get the cradle in place, pushed the bar back onto car and did up the bolts. (sounds so easy as I type this). Think I got it all level. Checked gaps around lights and guards. I Should have done this before I started as well now as I look at them I cant remember how much gap was there before (I will check it out next time I see a Prado down the shops)
Once all that was done I just lifted the winch up into the cradle and did up the four bolts that hold it in place. I haven't hooked up the Solenoid box yet might do that tonight if I can work out were to put it. I also need to get an Offset Hawse Fairlead. Heading up to Wallaman Falls on Saturday so I might be able to give it a bit of a test.

Well I got a snorkel from the big guy in the red and white suit. Ill get it fitted when I get a chance.
I took the factory side steps off. They were nearly falling off anyway. Looks a lot higher without them
I'm in the process of making some rock sliders, heaps of threads full of good stuff stirred me up.

I'll post some pics once there finished before and after the install. Hopefully they don't take to long.

Here are some pics with them fitted to car. I want some checker plate to fit into the gaps

Picked up some King Springs today. KTFR-101HD up front and KTRR-102 for the rear. Fitted the rears in under an hour. Very easy to do. Measured before and after height from bottom or rim to guard. Started with 775mm and finished with 825mm = 50mm gain. Happy with that. I'll wait till the weekend to do the fronts. Im sure it will take a bit more than an hour.

might be an idea to ask around to see who has a good spring compressor and pay a bit to have the coils fitted once you have the removed from the car

i did a Pajero a few weeks ago for the son and no way was the spring compressors from the parts store even going to look at getting close

                          just a though
                          ( a suspension mob did mine for $20 )

Yes, I used what seemed a fairly strong compressor for Supercheap. It let go about 1cm from the required length. It went with a massive bang. Fortunately it was on its side and I had my foot on the centre of the spring when it went, so no harm done. The mechanic said he's seen them go through the roof.

Don't need compressors on a prado, the front struts can be disassembled in the vehicle safe as. Someone better than me will post a link to a post on how to do it im sure. Basically undo the lower control arm from the ball joint and use a jack under the control arm to compress the spring in place on the strut.
