I would be inclined to place a bit of rubber top and bottom to stop any wear or scratching.

Long overdue pictures of the bash plates>
      Front

      Fuel tank

Not much else to report with the Prado, it held up nicely to a road trip from Bunbury to Cervantes, it's pretty comfy over long distances.
I did have a poor service experience with Bunbury Toyota, after it's 20K service yesterday there is now a squeaking noise coming from the front left wheel, after initially blaming the lift kit the service centre agreed to look over the car again tomorrow.

Near future plans include a dual battery install and maybe a snorkel as I am driving to Broome at the end of next month and I want to be able to run my waeco without any issues. I have had a snorkel suggested due to the high levels of bull dust in the Kimberly.

Very nice Prado Mike. Have same in white.. Starting to build it up. Question About the suspension. How have you found the ride? I like the standard ride but know as soon as I start touring weight will be its enemy. Have had OME modded Hilux x 2, Triton x 2 and recently an Amarok. All lifts and all rode a little more harshly after the suspension work. Happy with yours?
        Cheers
        Dave

          Hi Dave,

So far so good with the ride comfort, it doesn't feel harsh at all. On the road it is as comfortable as stock, off the road it has soaked up a couple of bumps with ease. I'm yet to try it out on some real corrugations however, when it was stock I took it up the powerlines track here in Perth and the corrugations and any un-even ground almost threw me out of the seat haha.

Dodgy pics in a carpark unfortunately, basically the top bracket is the standard L bracket that comes with the awning, then the shop just made a bottom bracket and stuck a couple of bolts through. It's been fine so far, doesn't rattle around and hasn't fallen off yet. Great little way to mount it without shelling out for crossbars (although I do eventually plan to go to a platform setup).

Kenny I will try to remember to take a photo of the fuel bash plate for you.
How's this holding up so far? What brand is your awning? Which shop fabricated the brackets for you?
            Thanks

So after a long time lurking again, here's an update on my rig >

              Exterior -

New bits: Rhino Rack stealth bars, Rhino Rack X-Tray large, Ironman Supernova HID spotlights, AirOnBoard recovery points, Bridgestone A/T Duelers 8ply (Just went on yesterday)

              Interior -

New bits: AirOnBoard spot light switch and dual USB charger, Hold my phone clic on holder for the UHF handset (Previously was double-sided taped to the dash but kept falling off in the summer heat), Canvas bag in the back for tools

              Experience so far>
Excellent car, the Prado has taken me everywhere I wanted to go and never let me down, mainly my trips have been day and overnight trips to the low SW (Yallingup, Hamelin Bay, Pemberton etc.) with the terrain being state forest tracks and a lot of beaches. All my trips were done with the standard Grandtreks so I expect a lot more from the Prado now that it has some good A/T tyres fitted.

The next major trip is a cross country trip to VIC/NSW to catch up with a mate, I hope to get some time in at Mt Kosciusko NP.
