They look and feel cheap - with some issues shown above..
I'm still not sure if i needed to use the 10cm additional cable.

Hey Steve Rig looks awesome, Did the wet seat covers cover the back of the seat as the web site kind of shows that they dont and i was hoping to get one that does?

      Cheers

They cover the back of the front seats. they do not cover the back of the middle seats - so you can access the child seat restraint bar and i guess limit damage when the seats are flat.

Fitted a STEDI 3301 39" light bar before a trip to Coral Bay.

Not totally happy with the install, as i wanted the bar to be at the same height as the platform so it didn't cast too much light into the cabin.
          Boy it is very bright.

              Hi Steve,

              Really enjoyed your post here.

Im about to build up my vx quite similar to yours. I've just done the rhino rack weeks ago, it was not a so pleasant job, however I loved the result. My next goal would be getting the dual battery work done before xmas, but I'm still not confident about prying those dash trims/plastics. Any chance you have some photos of door sill trims or dash trims or how those clips look like please?

Any tips will be very appreciated.

              Thanks in advance.

Generally, i've found the Prado very easy to work on. Keep the simple premise when trying to open facia, etc that if it feels too hard, your not doing it right or not doing things in the right order!

Fo the main footplate trim unclips - i used a large screwdriver, starting at one end and move to the other. The clips unpopped nicely. The seal around the door frame then peels away and you're good to go.

For the center console, the shiny upright plastic pieces pull out to reveal bolts for the gearbox tunnel.

The D-shaped pieces on the side of the dashboard that get sandwiched by the door simply un-pop.

Use lots of lube (watered down washing up liquid) when running cables through the bulkhead.

I've tried not to cut things that are not easy to replace - i.e. used the small hatches in the boot for the electronics, so i can replace if i want to remove/change the setup

I have a photo album on Flickr with possibly more photos
                https://www.flickr.com/photos/stephe...57675841809901

This/next month i get a set of drawers and a lithium battery setup. Looking forward to installing, not looking forward to the bill!

I wasn't happy with the light bar being above the platform.

In November 2018, STEDI started to produce a lightbar bracket that fitted to the Rhino rack platform.
                  https://www.stedi.com.au/led-light-b...-platform.html

This looked perfect - either i could try to install underneath the platform or with an included plate, the lightbar could be installed inline with the front edge.

I was able to fit the STEDI 3301 underneath the bar with a small gap underneath.

I installed a set of Drifta drawers

                        From:

To: Drifta drawers with Engel SG30, fridge slide on top, drawer and table.

                        Drawers open

                        Fridge slide for ARB 60l

                        Space for battery

Now i know how it fits, it's time to add the charging and switching electronics

                                It's an Engel SB30G / 30l drawer fridge.
Essentially a 'day fridge' - then the slider above will allow for my 60l ARB to be a freezer on longer trips.
