    Got any night time pictures?

Not right now mate, will get some for you tomorrow. They're unbelievable on narrow country roads though- the light they put out at their price point is insane.

Some new mods were procured over the weekend at the 4x4 expo. I've got a safari snorkle on order from ARB ($416 on show special, without fitment). I also got a pioneer tray from Autobarn who were having a 25% special on Rhino Rack gear over the weekend- Ended up going for the 2100 tray after getting some advice on here to do with tray sizes. On the way home I was thinking about how good having a light up top would be and decided to drop in at Supacenter and grab one of their 42 inch lightbars which was on special (as everything seems to be, all the time).

The next project will be fabricating some mounts up to fit the lightbar to the roof rack since I don't feeling like forking out some 80 bucks for a genuine set from RR.

I'll probably take delivery of the new stuff this week, but will hold off putting the snorkel on until I can free up a weekend at my mates place with his hoist- As the old bullbar will probably come off at the same time.

Here you are mate, grabbed one tonight before I put her back in the shed. The treeline at the boundry of the house paddock is probably about 300 meters from the shed. The lights really come into their own on single laned country roads where there's a heap of stuff to bouce off and illuminate (as I guess most spotties would). If I think of it I'll try and post one or two up on my drive home from town to give an idea of what they're like on a country road. EDIT: The light output is even better with the 42inch lightbar from Kings- There's no blind spots for roos to hide now

Mounted the pioneer platform today as well as the lightbar. As others on here have done I've routed the power cable for the roof lights through the back door grommit under the RH side tail lights.
I've made up my own mounts as a temporary solution for the lights as I was adverse to paying 80 bucks for a genuine set from Rhino rack. Fitting the roof platform itself can be a bit tedious- there's lots of little tabs that have to be sitting right to do the bolts up on and get it tight. The finished product looks great though, and I'm really happy with it.

I snapped up a brand new Rhino Rack Platform & Backbone system through the auto barn sale at a total cost price of $1003. (Supply only)

Loving this thread so far, keep the updates coming mate. I've only recently bought my 150 gxl and added wheels, roofrack, awning and roof lightbar. I routed my lightbar wiring under the weatherstrip on passenger side and under the windscreen weatherstrip to enter the engine bay for the battery and highbeam light. Seeing your rear route I'm wondering if I have done mine wrong or should change it? It all fit perfectly under the strips so I'm just second guessing myself a bit.

ps. Those RR look the goods, i went with the cheaper OCAM alloy tradesman rack but I'm loving the look of the RR. Also the info with the suspension has been helpful, my 150 is booked in 4 weeks time (when I fly home from work) to have the ARB deluxe bar, safari snorkel and OME HD suspension and 2inch lift fitted. I'm no where near educated on suspension so thanks for the info on what I should look out for after it's installed. As I said before keep up the updates of your 150 build cause I'm enjoying it as mine is coming together also.

thought I'd attach a progress of my big girl also (kids 1yo and 3yo called it big diamond so that's her name lol)

photos don't seem to be working for me.

Can't wait to get home and get the HD lift, bar and snorkel on. I fitted my brothers bar and snorkel to his ranger but had no fear of cutting his panels, didn't have the balls to cut my prado apart.

A tick over 1K (1030?) if I remember correctly. The backbone is a large amount of that though, nearly half from memory.

Drove down to Maroochydore today from home and the only complaint is that there's a fair bit of wind noise coming from the lightbar. I am planning on relocating it back on the roof to get it to reflect less light on the bonnet however, so this may fix that.

I think you'll be fine routing it through the front mate- As long as you're happy with how it's all sealed up then it's probably 6 on one hand/ half dozen on the other. I'm planning on running a power cable up to the roofrack which is one of the reasons I went through the back- As a third battery will end up going in the set of drawers that'll eventually be going in and it will power everything in the back of the car. No worries on the suspension, I'm not too proud to say that I got take for a bit of a ride and if someone else can learn from it, then that's what this forum is all about.

Here are some more concrete examples of the results from the lights. I pulled up on my driveway twice to give examples of different driving situations- those being confined country roads and more open scrub. The driving lights and the light bar tend to cover similar areas which is why the improvement from the roof lights isn't massive- Although they do spread a lot more to the sides which may not be obvious from the phone camera trying to get the best light balance. Overall they're not a bad investment although they do come with drawbacks- Namely a fair amount of wind noise at highway speeds (100km/h+), another obstruction on the roof- Although not a big deal if you have a setup like mine and a decent amount of light bleeding into the cab. I'd only advise fitting them if you intend to do large amounts of night driving in rural or regional areas, the noise for me wouldn't be worth it if you mainly do city and town driving.

Second post due to upload limit of 5 pics per post, this was taken on a section of open country with no trees or tall grass/ weeds etc. on the verge of the road.

Attached some scuba gear to her today so she can now come swimming with me. I've done a few horrible jobs in my time, but cutting holes in a perfectly good quarter panel beats most of them I reckon. It was definitely a case of measure ten times, cut and drill once. Really happy with the result, however I am in need of some new clips that secure the inner guard to the body panels- I tried to save them, but they ended up getting a taste of the knipex as they were full of mud and refused to budge- I would appreciate if anyone had a part number or knew exactly what they were called.

EDIT: I can't get the second picture to spin around the correct way- It's not that way in my photo folder, the website keeps flipping it around.
EDIT 2: Don't damage the clips for the love of all that's holy, they cost about 5 bucks each at autobarn- The staff needed to get a defibrilator to get me off the floor when they told me the price for a dozen.

Went down to Wolf 4x4 yesterday on my way to pick up a family member from the airport- The guys in there were very professional and happy to chat. I'd decided beforehand that I wanted a Runva Winch as they had the best warranty on their winches with reguards to water ingress and abuse- I had considered Smittybilt and Warn, however both of these companies wouldn't warranty their "low end" winches against water ingress- Something I hope I'll never find myself in, but which in theory could well happen on a creek crossing etc. I ended up getting a Runva 11XP premium which came with a sealed motor and gearbox (IP67 rated). I'll hopefully install it this weekend when the bullbar finally goes on.
