Old Landcruiser is sold, Falcon should be gone this week. Will have some funds to do some stuff with then

ARB next week, see what they say about the shock etc.

Had been thinking about a LED headlight upgrade but noticed the car seems to have decent lights already, confirmed it has Night Breakers high and low beam already so will wait til they fail and just grab some parkers to match and replace the parker/indicator combo in the bar with a LED one. Also looking at the Sterdi DRL foglight LED upgrade as well.

Headed out to the undergound hut on the weekend, cool spot to explore.

First time putting the car into low range, was surprised to find it didn't lock the centre diff automatically like the 80 used to.

Small creek crossing to get out, looked deeper and steeper exit in the driver seat but it's all learning.

Posting pics vids Pics/Vid via Imgur as they appear tiny when I upload them directly to the forum.

Took me a lil to get used after having a 80 and a disco going to low range

Been reading about the centre diff and the for and against for leaving it unlocked in more situations than I would have normally considered.

Also, Stocklock tell me they don't do a product for V6 yet. Whilst I don't tow heaps I do drive in hilly terrain daily so having the auto flare less would be good, I don't even bother setting cruise.

Considering buying myself that exhaust for my birthday but having a hard time reconciling a 2k spend for what little power and economy benefit I imagine it will actually produce lol.

Yeah I’m not sure to sure about the exhaust ? The disco i have was a v8 and we put extractors and exhaust on and it did help and made the fuel a bit better but wouldn’t say it’s was a huge improvement in power or economy but sounded like a real v8 !

              Power - Check
              Economy - Check
              Driving Enjoyment - Check

Sounds like a win to me, even if those were all minor gains.

Can now confirm, fuel light on is definitely about 20L remaining and is a good indicator of actual distance to go as the cruising range was reading 0 for some time.

I wouldn't say there's a "huge" difference in economy between e10 (which I had to put half a tank in on the trip home as I got caught out) and the Apco 95. It's certainly better on 95, runs a little smoother, bit better pickup, and goes a bit further on a tank, but I wouldn't bother if I was filling up at Shell prices (U91 $1.39 - U95 $1.56 before discounts this morning - APCO U95 $1.38 so I see it as a happy medium).

My daily commute of 45 or so K's round trip is quite hilly for 80% of the trip and I did a little low range on this tank as mentioned, worked at at low 14s per hundred. My guess is that, at best, with intake, exhaust and a tune I may see low 13s, maybe high 12's on the highway, which to me would be more than fine given the advanatges over diesel. That said, it's a far cry from the 10s I used to get in the Territory and the 9s I was getting in the FG lol I am enjoying just having one car to do everything though.

Off to ARB today, see what they say about this knock.

Just ordered a bunch of LEDs to do most of the car inside and out. Screnshot shows seller and part numbers/prices - Will post pics when I fit them. See if I end up needing a different indicator flasher relay.

That leaves the ARB light assemblies to replace (a combined indicator/parker and a fog light) and I will go LED headlight once the current bulbs burn out. Looking at the Stedi DRL/Foglight combo and this parker/indicator combo. https://www.stedi.com.au/arb-deluxe-...grade-kit.html

Also ordered a panel filter and will do the airbox mod when I pop that in. I went dry filter as I have first hand experience with oiled filters being a pain. - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

ARB only had the car for a short period before caling back to say they will be replacing the front 2 shocks, rears are different design/setup as I asked about those.

Apparently after 20 or so k's they can bind up and adjusting them breaks something internally. Have seen plenty about this online so I guess I'm a victim too.

Will have to book back in as they do not carry the parts, annoying.

Odd one this morning, Both low beams blown at the same time.

Car was at ARB yesterday for them to look at shocks but batteries had not been disconnected from what I can see.

12v at the pin while idling so not over voltage, both 15amp fuses look fine but appear to be originals so there's some markings on the pins. Swapped in high beam relay thinking it might be a relay before checking the actual bulbs.

Will talk to Stedi this morning as that's just expdited my upgrade. Will also talk to ARB to ask the question.

I have the Stedi low beam LED kit. They look great, however, I found my stock globes threw far more light when driving at night. Having said that, I have kept the LEDs in as the colour matches my other DRL/parking lamps.

I hear such mixed things about these. I will know soon enough. I grabbed the high beam kit also.

I realise they made it and it's in their best interst, but the Stedi video seems fairly cut and dry?

Be great to hear your thoughts Dan. I would like to buy the high beams also.

I won't be able to take pics of low beam comparison, as Idon't have any currently lol

Was hoping to pop these in on my lunch break but it's pouring here and freezing outside.

Given there's a driver to mount etc I'll do it at home so I can do it properly.

They look good in the box if nothing else

Everyphoto I post comes up tiny on my screen for some reason.
