  • Looking for a Desert Change?

This might be just the thing if you are looking for a lifestyle change that involves living in the driest region on the continent.

    http://raywhiteportaugusta.com.au/sa/marree/1311038/

Nice spot to visit, one of my favourite places and tracks to drive, not sure I would want to live there though.

    Cheers Andrew

It's a great spot, but I wonder if it would sell for many dollars...

Last time we were there, we picked a nice quiet spot and settled down to make camp and prepare dinner. Everything was going peachy until a bunch of noisy buggers decided to set up 10 metres away after dusk and make a very loud night of it, yelling their heads off until about 4am.

That's the problem with campgrounds, give me wide spaced bush camping any day.

we have never camped there, only visited and bush camped elsewhere along the Oodnadatta Track or Flinders when heading South.

Last time we dropped in there was because after stopping at the William Creek pub, the publican asked us to deliver the mail to Coward Springs, gotta love the outback attitude, you can be the official mailman based purely on the fact you are heading the right direction

Anyway we decided we would have a dip in the spa, there was a young couple already in the spa who were travelling the track on pushbikes, we talked for a while before the penny dropped in my mind, there was no way she was getting out of the spa whilst we were there, you cant carry many luxuries like bathers on a pushbike trip

After visiting the museum we returned and they had vacated the tub, so we had a nice spa, very relaxing.

                    Cheers Andrew

Similiar to Drew I'd love a change from sh## Sydney.. but I must say I found that particular region of the outback very boring.

They were returning after 12 years, legend has it the "sprog" was conceived there. AJ has since learnt there are ramifications to lust filled days on the tracks and an opportune spa in the middle of butt nowhere.... hence the sprog (aka a convicted cookie thief) was permitted to bath this time round.
