As for needing spies, PP is an open forum, anyone anywhere can access everything except the Bungalow forum, and for those not on the bungalow forum, your not missing much The one or 2 posts a month in there are about as exciting as watching paint dry anyway.

    Cheers Andrew
I don't think there's anyone who was banned has returned.

Lets name people so everyone can get the facts straight!

Cowboy 4x4 shop owners that think they know better than manufactures, rip customers off and lie through their teeth.
example and my tale of woe,

I just bought a 95series in just about showroom condition apart from the springs and shocks, this certainly wasn't a deal breaker as I was going to lift it anyway and at least I wasn't ripping out good gear, anyway
I settled on the IM Foam pro kit in constant load form, went local as the price was the same as online and didn't have to pay shipping.
I asked whether he could supply new top front shock seats, was quoted $149 which was similar to repco and he would assemble the coil-overs for me for free. After asking if he knew that the coil-overs had to be assembled so the bolts line up and getting the usual "oh yeah of course mate she be right blah blah, I felt reasonably sure that everything would go fine when installing my lift (self install, very competent).

So went to pick up the kit,
first thing he tells me that the shock mounts are $149 each not for the pair. I told him they were only ~$70 each from repco and was met with these are better quality bs, but as he had already assembled the coil-overs I just let it be.
Asked about the adjustment spanner for the adjustable coil-overs was told that it didn't come with them and was $380 from Ironman, sorta left that to as its not something I would need anytime soon.
Asked what height he set the CO's to and was told he added 15mm to account for sag, about here my heart sank, I told him that that 15 will equate to 30 at the wheels and any spring that sags 30mm isn't worth shit. He tells me that they have done a few blah blah. This left me less confident but warranty would cover a new spring.

On to the install last weekend
Anyway here is where everything goes pear shaped, rear goes in without a hitch except for getting to the top shock bolts.
After disassembling the front it became quite clear very quickly the CO's were way out of alignment, broke 2 spring compressors trying to reset them and gave up in exhaustion.
Took them in first thing monday with the old CO. Was met with how was I supposed to know, the 95 series is 10yrs old, new hilux's are in line with the bottom eye excuse excuse, told him this is why I specifically asked and you had given me the impression you had a jig as you stated you do heaps of different vehicles. He said he would align them and I could pick them up at lunch time.
Monday arvo/evening the CO's went in but the front ended up in the sky was way to high and the ride was absolute shithouse. Cv's were on a massive angle but weren't binding.
Straight back on tuesday with the car, really pissed by now, he tells me well this is why we should install them, this is all trial and error and this is only the second set of the foamcell pros he had sold.
I told him straight up, why would I pay some one $500 to remove 36 bolts when I'm quite capable of doing so myself, how its trial and error when the manufacturer has specified a height for a reason, what right he though he had to experiment with other peoples cars and he can now fix it. (as much as I didn't want to give him my car I don't have a hydraulic press to reset the CO's)
He said bring it in first thing Thursday, which I wasn't to happy about as it was 2 days off.
In the meantime I called Ironman head office and spoke to one of their engineers. 2-3mm maximum for sag and the adjustment spanner is $77 not $380 as I was told

Anyway today it was sorted, checked everything bolts, measurements etc before I drove out and he will never get mine or anyone else I knows business ever again.
    Just a total nobjockey

    End rant
