This story starts out bad but ends up ok. Goldfields Toyota had my baby for a 100,000 service. Rang me just before lunch and all good to go. I knew something wasn't right when I saw the bill. But the girl went through everything they had done so off home I go. Get under the car and they haven't changed the in-between tanks filter. Open the bonnet and there's a fair amount of oil splashed around. Take it back and politely complain. Turns out they serviced my car as if it was a V6 petrol, not diesel. Somebody cocked up the VIN. Anyway the service manager got to the bottom of it and a new filter was installed and they degreased the engine bay. Best of all they didn't charge me the extra couple of hundred bucks for the filter and labour that it should have cost.

W.E.B Suspention - Holden Hill - Adelaide
Recently had some work done by W.E.B Suspension on North East Road, Holden Hill. Needed to get the Tie Rod ends replaced (we'd managed to pop one of the grease seals) and a wheel alignment. While booked in they noticed the steering bushes were really sloppy so priced that work up for me and it seemed reasonable so told them to go ahead. Well - they had some trouble with that job - and ended up holding onto the car for a day and a half. (And here's the point where they differentiated themselves - I'm a big believer in not getting upset when you hear bad news from a business because it's a great opportunity to see people shine, or show that they're jerks).
They called me regularly with updates on what they were having trouble with and amended eta's etc etc which was good (and surprisingly uncommon) - but i was getting nervous that i was going to see a massive bill for lengthy services due to a bolt / nut / something that was stuck. Rocked up to pay the bill thinking i was an even odds chance of having to dispute the big bill only to find that they didn't charge a cent extra above what was quoted and actually proactively discounted the original price because of the inconvenience of being without my car longer than expected.
They'd also left the A4 printout of the wheelalignment results on the seat in the car for me - which i hadn't gotten on my last wheel alignment - had to go asking for it.
After just dropping a few thousand dollars at a large three letter 4WD company and feeling like i should think myself lucky they dealt with me - i found this customer service experience to be quite refreshing

Just had a great 20k service at Old Mac Toyota springwood. Serviced fine, plus they found the rattle that ARB had 2 cracks at and didn't find. It's ARB's fault from the snorkel install but they still said if I had no luck with ARB to bring it back and they'd fix it for free. Then when I told them about the desert trip I'm heading on, they made sure I knew how to change the air and fuel filters. When I said I'd never done the fuel filter, he took me out and talked me through it quickly, then said to drop in one Saturday and they'd take me into the workshop and walk me through changing it just in case I needed to whilst in the desert. Also free. Very happy with Old Mac so far.

[B]Good service/product
Service provider: AAA Exhausts, Richmond, SA.
I bought some pacemaker extractors and high flow muffler from the guys at AAA Exhausts in Richmond recently and was very happy with both the price and the service I received. The blokes there are knowledgeable and great to deal with. They gave me a few extra pieces of pipe and flared the ends to give me a few options when fitting the system myself. They do all types of exhaust work on a wide range of vehicles and have a well equipped workshop and showroom.
Highly recommend.
Cheers, Ben.Last edited by Torrie 72; 10-11-2011, 01:19 AM.

I'm up for my 10k service shortly. Anyone have any feedback on Sydney City Toyota in Glebe?
Phil McCarroll in Waitara isn't exactly convenient but I'm willing to take the drive if there aren't any other suggestions closer to the city.
Thanks

Good service/dealers
Motor Court Toyota in Mornington VIC is outstanding.
The sales guy, Trent, was fantastic. Basically gave me a great price first up and said if I could get better he'd match it. When I couldn't find anyone cheaper, he through in some extra freebies anyway.
Service Manager, Alan is great to deal with. Nothing is a problem and their work is top notch. I've had my Redarc brake controller, Firestone airbags, Safari snorkel and some other auto electrical stuff fitted by them and all excellent.
Cheers, Sam.

Re: Good service/dealers
I have had my 2006 GXL lifted with a few new shockies etc, by the guys at:
ORE - Off Road Equipment in Malaga (Perth, WA). Did a fantastic job... I booked it in for 40mm on all for sides, came out with 45mm at the front and 55mm at the back as it had sagged a bit since new. Would defintely reccomend them for any work you need done in regards to making your Prado a bit more 4WD'y

Quad diff breathers
Piranha Hot Shower
Bull bar
I also bought my ARB fridge from them as well as other smaller ARB items.
All work was done right the first time .

Re: Good service/dealers
Originally posted by Rogerthatv2Flick for me, after the job/s they did on my wifes Rav4 I would rather do it myself. I take mine to SciFleet Kedron now (close to work) but I used Southside Toyota Mt Gravatt after Springwood and can highly recommend.
