I wouldn't mind exploring Lockyer sometime, but unfortunately for this weekend, it looks like your decision to call this trip off was the right one:
http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks_and...rts/11382.html
All roads within Lockyer National Park closed until Monday 2 July
This alert applies to the following parks:
Lockyer National Park
Due to current dangerous road conditions and local flooding, all roads and fire trails in the Lockyer National Park have been closed temporarily for safety reasons.
The use of vehicles on unsealed roads in the area during this time is considered dangerous and is likely to cause severe structural damage.
These roads are expected to re-open on Monday 2 July 2012.
The safety of visitors and the conservation of the road and fire trail system is of concern to the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service during these conditions.

With the weather I'm going to call this one off as I don't want to cause any damage to the tracks.
However if any body is interested I'm a quick spin around Ormeau on Sunday send me a PM,
Richo.

Guys with the wet weather we have been having this week we best keep an eye out for possible track closures. This looks like the website http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/lockyer/about.html.
Will keep an eye out here http://www.weatherzone.com.au/qld/so...t-coast/gatton.

Sadly Richo, I can't convince SWMBO to take the reins this weekend, so I'll sit this one out. Sigh.
Cheers,
Dave

Is that Saturday or Sunday?Originally posted by Richoson View PostOk Folks
Here is the plan, meet at Plainlands shopping centre on the Warrego Highway and Laidley Plainlands Rd intersection at 8.30am for a 9.00am departure.
The plan is to go up Wallers Rd to Seventeen Mile Rd and then make a decision on where from there as it is dependant on how long this takes. From the report I read Wallers Rd is not maintained and has some technical sections so if the weather continues as it is we may need to make some route changes as we go.
Please be aware that I havent done this trip so it is another one of my "Richo that looks like an interesting side track" trips that are very much make it up as we go.
Bring food and drinks as we are most likely not nera to shops except at the start and end of the day.
See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Hey Richo,Originally posted by Richoson View PostOkeyI Dokey folks my thoughts are for a drive starting at Wallers Road doing that and depending on the time either some gravel roads or looking for some fun as Fabes did.
Whose for Saturday or Sunday? Decision will be made tomorrow night so log your thoughts majority rules.
Express your interest.
See us on the tracks, Richo.

Saturday suites me, gives us Sunday to clean the fourby. That said I could be tempted into Sunday and stop at the car wash as you go back past plainlands.

Sadly we will have to miss another one. Celeste gets back from Moreton on Sat afternoon so I expect that Sun will be spent top dressing the front yard with sand from under the Prado.
Look forward to the next trip
Jeff
