    I have some questions:

    1) Are you aware there is a Fee (accoding to my Westprint Map) for using the Bore Track South from Innamincka to Cameron Corner (Payable to Bollards Lagoon Homestead)
    2) If Yes, what is the cost - I assume per Vehicle
    3) If not, is someone going to Ring them to find out?
    4) What Passes do we need, apart from the Simspon Desert Parks Pass

I am asking these questions, so I can understand Fuel costs and other associated costs, and to Highlight fees that people may not know about.

    Stuart
Yes I am aware of the costs to do the bore track . No haven't called yet .

      Anders,

This is normal for me to ask questions like this.
It is part of my homework for the trip - Understanding Distances, Fuel Costs etc...

I don't have funds available, as I am a carer, so need to know these things, before committing to attend.

Maybe we need to add more infor to the first post.
Exact route intended, from melb, including towns, road names, supposed dry road & track conditions, estimated Klm's and/ or fuel required for the trip. What gear, supplies, amount of water, maximum distances between fuel and fuel type availability.

Coming from Brisbane, I'm planning on catching the group at Loxton based on the rough outline on the first thread but I'm pretty flexible (blkd4d - I'm a definite now if you want to take my question mark off the first thread).

As far as costs go, if you are looking at a trip like this and needing to count every penny then what are your plans if something goes wrong in the desert? Recoveries out there can be many thousands of dollars, something everyone needs to factor in before doing a trip like this, you can't just call roadside assist and get a tow to the nearest mechanic.

Whilst I am sure everyone would help as much as possible, towing a stranded Prado out with another Prado is a big ask, so getting the professionals would be on the cards.

            Cheers Andrew

Or at least there's as much info as possible others can work it out.

I have other trips before this so for me plenty time to get ready.

To give ppl that know less about it than me an idea: ( I don't know much yet :-))
Everyone know where warrnambool is? & know where Sale is? In Vic.
Well I think the drive from Mt Dare to Birsdsville will be like the distance from warrnambool to Sale ( but on sand no roads)
              Yi-haaaaaa

Yes Anders sorry more work for you........ :-)
              More work beautiful

                  Hey guys.
We are coming down from mackay to the Birdsville races so we hope to meet you all there...
Would you mind if we (me missus & kid) join the group for the Bore track & Cameron corner?
From there we can make our way back up north and head home...
                  Any objections???
                  Drew.

Guys dont want to burst the bubble, but the Bore Track is closed, the property owners did this on safety reasons.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Will have to look into that , looks like bore track north open to 4wds , south closed contact property owners . That is from desert parks

                        Could be old info

Well thats less than helpful, I have been to Warnambool but I had to look up Sale on the map. Across the Simmo is pretty much a straight line, if you drive a straight line between Warnambool and sale you are gunna need a F&*%IN long snorkel

                            Cheers Andrew
