Is anyone else heading straight back to Radelaide from Birdsville. I've just had my leave adjusted so that I have to be back at work on Tuesday the 10th. I figure there will be that much traffic on the Main drag down i wouldn't have too much to worry about even if i have to head off solo.
A bit of a bummer - but the Simpson was the bit I would struggle to do by myself at a later date so all good

The desert guides say you should use 10 for the desert crossing so you can listen out for chatter for potential oncoming traffic. I don't know if you want to use a different one getting there and back though. We generally use 16 for trips round here.Comment

No idea about water around, I don't think so -wild guess
On bigger trips, I always have at least a small tarp onboard.
That being said I've never used it, like I've said before, when you think you need a snorkel or a bra, you need to seriously think about the crossing first.
So I guess the answer is no. But that's just my thoughts.Comment

A tarp is always a good idea, even if you only use it to get under the vehicle for any reason. It's very easy to lose spanners and sockets in the sand

Confirmed list, whoever turns up at Loxton or Leigh creek .
Seriously Mark has a mate who's coming we should meet him on the day we leave Melbourne and we hope Shan is coming other than them two I think the list is spot on.
What channel will we be on. 10 in the desert, from Melbourne maybe something different if I'm by myself I usually sit on 40. Like #### said 16 normally for trips around here .
Stuart I would say 16 or 10 when we leave Loxton but depends if other people are on those channels. Stuart give me a text Wed morning and tell me how you are traveling .
From talking to Heath, Will and the youtube vids unless we get some good rain I don't think we have to worry to much about water. I might squeeze the bra just because I have one but like Peter said always a good idea to have a tarp to put on the ground if you need to.
Stuart how did you go with the Sat phone?
Tiny looks like my father will be at Hay Big4 on Monday night I can give you his number if you like. I think if you are leaving Hay on Tuesday morning you would be in Loxton before us so will see you at the Big4 at Loxton.
Everyone happy to go have a club Meal on the Tuesday night.
Andrew and Trish should be back from their holiday and might come down for a chat .
