After reading this it reminds me why I work. So I can afford to do these sort of trips, or at least dream about doing it.
Too true, great trip report.....

Re: Birdsville & Oodbadatta Tracks Aug 2008 - Trip Report
Hello Malcur
We are planning a similar trip in October with our Jayco Swan offroad. My big question is how well did the caravan survive the trip? If the 18 foot off road van did it than I reckon the Jayco would as well. We are heading first for Adelaide, up to Coober Pedy, across to William Creek, Marree, Leigh Creek, Strezlecki Track to Innamincka and back home via Nindigully pub, Lightning Ridge to the Tweed.
150 Vx D4D, Deluxe Arb bar, winch, Hayman Reece Towbar, UBP, P3 Tekonsha, 'n stuff.

I recommend starting with a very big fire"-Vince.
