BIG Thanks to Paul for lending me his Wind Booster controller..... all I can say is WOW, what a difference it makes to the throttle response. I had always thought the 150's was lacking in this dept. I had always thought I had to really push down hard the accelerator to get the car to go/respond quickly, especially when u had to get out of the way of someone on the road that was driving like a idiot or even taking off from the side road and getting up to speed with the traffic flow.

I installed it and set it to the P2 mode to ensure I would notice something..... WOW, what a difference. I then tried P1 setting and even that was a good improvement over std. I then put the A/C on as I know that does tend to sap some power and with it on P2 it was great.... Would be interesting on how it will effect the economy with having this better response..... not sure if u would get worse or better or stay the same..... But I definitely will be saving some $$ with hopes of getting one....

BTW: The missus went for a drive and came back with a grin on her face..... Her comment was..... Now I can drag people off at the lights
I hope I get it back now that your Missus approves of this mod!!!

I had the same response when I first put it in.

Will these work in the V6 as well?

Richo are you still keen for a test!

Yep.... the missus loves it... The Car gets up and goes like it should..... u might even say it gets up and goes like a petrol. We have it set on the MAX P2 though.... P1 is ok but if you're running your A/C all the time, then P2 is just that much better for when it comes to quick response. Fuel economy, well its probably a still a bit too early to tell, but I reckon there is a slight increase in the fuel that u use but this may settle down again once the missus gets over the thrill of being able to drag people off at the set of lights....
People's experiences with this device might all be different, but in our case with the results I got from installing it, I no longer at this point in time have any thoughts in installing a Chip. This device has given the vehicle the response I was looking for.... We're heading out on another touring trip in June, so it will be a good test when fully loaded to see whether my opinion is still the same....

Re: Automatic - The Auto does seem to change more frequently as there is no holding on / lugging in top gear. It changes down sooner than holding on, so in my opinion the Auto is changing gears more often...... is that a good/bad thing.... don't know. One would assume by changing down gears early, there would be less stress on the gears/bearings but the workings behind the auto (the valve body, etc) is also having to work more too one would assume.....comments??

I'd also like to know if this works in a V6.

                Sounding good there Rob.

These have been put on the hilux v6 with no issues and work a treat so I can't see the prados being any different.

Hutch is looking at testing mine on his V6.

I look forward to Hutchs comments as he drives at about the same speed as I do I'm over the delay in throttle response, plenty of killerwasps.

I didn't realise that the Petrol suffered from the throttle delay as well... I just thought it was a diesel thing.... If that's the case, you'll love it.... not sure on the fuel usage though

The throttle delay will be an eco thing. A mate in Japan has an hybrid camry and it shouts at you if you push the accelerator too hard or too fast. It complained all the way to the golf course and back!

Told the GF I might get a wind booster, she said my performances were powerful enough without one and the undies were barely holding up as it is.

                                Wind Booster with options

Glenn dropped one of these off - thanks mate.

It sure does change throttle response! P2 is pretty dramatic change, P1 is good, Normal makes the car feel well normal - sluggish. Normal for me is all other power options off. Eco is my choice for around town.

So settings available to me now are a mesmerising combination of the following 64 possible power options!

                                1. Wind Booster - 4 settings
                                2. TRD chip on or off
                                3. Inter cooler fan on/off
                                4. LPG on/off
                                5. Inter cooler water spray on/off

Tried with Wind on P2 and everything on - oh my..... What a blast! I might try and find a nice quiet safe stretch of road and do some 0-100kph times, just for science you understand.

Bit of a diesel head really!

                                Cheers
