My son is in the market for a 90 series Prado - Auto. This will be his first car so it needs to be in very good condition as he also wants it reliable enough to do some outback touring. He lives in Mackay but we'll also look at anything in Brisbane.

I have a Prado which I am considering selling. We are looking at the new Prado. I have not placed it on the market yet but am willing to sell. It's a 1998 Grande, auto, 3.4 V6 petrol with sunroof, dual tanks, tow bar with electric brake controller, UHF radio, Old Man Emu suspension and springs, excellent condition, etc.
It has been my wifes car for school drop offs etc and the weekend tourer for going camping at places like Cania Gorge, Northern NSW, etc. It has done some 4WDing but nothing extreme. Always been the reliable 4WD/tourer. It's in excellent condition and would be an ideal tourer for your son.

I have a 2002 diesel 90 series I am putting on the market shortly, though I am willing to part with it now if necessary. It is a TX auto, 180000 km with up to date service history. Auto trans, has been flushed and replaced, cooling system has been flushed and replaced and the timing belt done as per manual. It has a few extras as well: TJM bullbar, rhino racks, Tow bar,(nothing heavier than a b ox trailer ) Window tint, paint protection, sound deadening and rustproofing, side steps. Tyres are about 70 percent and overall its in really good condition and well worth a look. I can send you some photos if you like but you may have to give me an email address. Mine's available if you don't mind going the distance for a Sydney pickup.
It's very reliable, and I'm often told I over-service my cars, so I'd have no hesitation in taking this anywhere outback. Currently 160k with both 150k & 160's service's done (the expensive ones, timing belt, all fluids, etc). Yes it's auto.
It had one owner for 9 years of strictly suburban life, then mine for 1 year (when all upgrades were installed - so all mods are less than 1 year/20k old). Looks great and in excellent condition - the only bad points are 1x rear bumper scruff and 1x manual antenna.
