I have Ridge ryder 12000 with synthetic rope .Have mounted the control box on the left side behind the grille on the support bracket for the Bar.
other things you may need depends on the tyope of winch you end up putting in but as others have said on this topic previously maybe longer mounting bolts due to the thickness of the plate as the standard bolts are just not long enough..
do a search for sovereign winch and as attached are just 2 of many previously submitted topics.

    hope that helps

    Hi buzz,
I have an ironman 9500 winch fitted to sovereign bull bar. I noticed when installing mine that there s a sticker that states no more than 9500 lb winch. I know others on PP have put 12000 lb on theirs. The best test I have done with mine was to winch myself up a muddy slope whilst towing a tonne of firewood which it struggled but still made it( single line pull) . I also use a redarc to bridge both batteries whilst winching. The winch fits snugly inthe cradle with the control box mounted right behind the winch. There is not much room for the main negative cable but it does fit. The control cable only just reaches into the cabin, but I always use the remote one with no hassles.
    Cheers
    Phil

    Hi Guys,
Just out of curiosity, would someone be able to let us know how heavy of a winch I can go with the genuine sovereign bullbar? Also, if you have a sovereign bullbar and have a winch fitted, which winch did you choose, what else do I need to get in order to fit a winch and do I need to have my front suspension changed to fit a winch?

    Cheers

    Buzz

    Hi Peter ,
Thanks for that part number mate . Toyota here in Cairns are saying they cant be got , but after reading the older posts here on PP i see that some members have aquired a cradle as little as 2 months ago . I will go in and see them again armed with the part number you have provided and tell them to have another look . Kind reagards Fletch .

    Hi Steve ,
Yeah mate , i was aware of the re-call and it has had the new brackets fitted but no winch cradle ?? . My 120 is an 2008 GX , Ex-govt . Maybe " KEVIN 07 " wasnt a winch man . Lol

Can still buy new from Toyota. When they did the recall for the sovereign bar they also had to be fitted with a new winch cradle as the new brackets are different and didnt suit the old winch cradle. When I had my recall done (last year not that long ago) they asked wether I had a winch or not as they would have had to fit up the new cradle as well so would require extra time for fitment. I dont have one fitted to mine. Presume you would have known about the recall ?? Possibly not, I only found out about it from this website, never got a letter or anything from RTA or Penrith Toyota. They were replaced due to cracking/stress fractures.......Cheers Steve
