Job done. Picked up a fan and relay from the wreckers and fitted it up. Joined the wires as Adrian stated above and works fine.
The Prado already...

I suspect that it's to do with the version of the chip so it's all a bit of a hit and miss. The one that I have which works is one I got about 5 years...

As long as the ignition is on or running it should be able to communicate. Double check the string.

I'd just run the hose around the mounts first before pulling it all apart to see if they are the culprit, or if its coming from elsewhere.
