Due to the number of attempted carjackings in Melbourne of late, I decided to look into an auto door lock circuit for the GXL.
Finding out there is no setting available for this model, I drafted a circuit using the hand brake (no wire cutting) then found out verbally that's how they impliment the DRL on the newer versions.
anyhow, I googled and found this OBD lock for Toyota's and gladly handed over the $45.
It arrived today and it works a charm.
As stated plug in, drive, get to 20kph and the doors lock.
Unlock manually or open any door, they re-lock once 20kph is reached.
they Unlock once the engine is killed.
Another good note is in the event of a fast deceleration (incident) 50-0kph within 2 seconds the doors unlock.
