After going away we realised we definitely now need better storage in the prado.
I have searched ALL the drawer threads on PP already. Some useful info but I have more specific questions.
I have narrowed my choice down to either ARB outback drawers made by 4wd interiors
http://www.4wdinteriors.com/roller_drawers.html
or Offroad systems Draws
http://www.offroadsystems.com.au/products.html
My requirements:-
I want a drawer setup to take cooking/camping material, tools, recovery straps and secure the ARB fridge to.
The fridge will sit on the left on a slide or the slide drawer top as per the outback solutions option.
They need to be easily removable
My questions:-
General
There seems to be two options for a drawer setup
1. a flat set of 2 drawers side by side.
Advantage- still have a flat floor for carrying stuff when the fridge is out
Disadvantage, Fridge sits about 250-300mm higher up on the drawers. so hanger to get stuff in and out.
2. the fridge sits on the left side at floor level and several drawers stacked vertically on the right hand side.
Advantage - the fridge is a lot lower and probably more usable to get stuff in and out?
Disadvantage. No flat floor
Specific to the drawer companies
Outback Drawers
Advantage - have nice handles and a no slam finger mechanism . They are modular.
Disadvantage- no water tank option. See below. Height sits above my child anchor points.
Offroad Drawers
Advantage - systems seems to be lower and hence can use my child seat anchors (a must).
They also have a nice option for a 35 litre stainless steel water tank that sits between the 2nd seats and the back of the drawers.
This would be very handy for us as we are constantly needing water, washing hands with the kids etc.
Disadvantage - Handles and finger savers not as good as outback solutions.
So from those of you that have used drawers, any guidance would be greatly appreciated
(Pricing seems to be about the same btw)
1. Would you go for a flat 2 drawer setup or a fridge left and several drawers vertically on the right? and
2. Which of the above two companies you think make a better product etc.?
Cheers
