I jumped into my car the other day and the driver's side mirror was pointing out so I wound the window down and pulled the mirror back. It appeared to be a little bit loose but I didn't worry about it too much. I went for a drive later that day and again the mirror was back in the same position. It appears that every time I start the car the mirror moves forward. I went to Toyota today and it appears that the mirror has been knocked forward, typical car park incident. I asked them if they can fix it and they said no that it is a complete unit and quoted a replacement price of $2,054. Apparently it is a gear problem within the mirror tat breaks, which you can't replace.
I was told that it s not a warranty job as the mirror had been knocked. Interestingly I thought the mirrors could go forward but apparently this will break them.
Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution to repair rather than pay the $2,000 odd to replace the whole thing.
