I'm looking at a set of 17" sunraysa rims with a +10 offset and was wondering if a 285 70 17 will fit with those rims, thinking about having a 2nd set of muddies for offroad weekends.

285/70r17 in a +10 fit on my brothers SWB 150 Prado. It is a fair tyre jump from Std expect to loose a lot of power and fuel usage will be up a fair bit
Personally think a 32" tyre suits a Prado better than a 33" unless you change diff gears to suit
From an off-road perspective you want narrow and tall, this will maximise surface patch area when aired down, narrower tyre width also saves on fuelLast edited by Phs; 19-06-2017, 06:12 PM.

Hi guys
I didn't want to start yet another thread on 285s.
My Dunlop Grantrek 265/65r17s are at 51000km and 85% wear. 85% wear is good enough for me! So I'm due for a tyre upgrade and I'm thinking about getting 285/70r17 BGF AT KO2s, and I'm not going to dress up the reason: they look cool and I wants them. But, I am aware of UCA rubbing for 285s.
I remember reading something about the fact that I can, but I cant find it now, so I'm looking for confirmation: Can I replace the UCAs with aftermarket ones and avoid the rubbing on stock rims?
I'd probably get front strut spacers (25-40mm) at the same time. No idea if that's relevant.Last edited by Nik83; 14-08-2017, 11:42 PM.
