Ever since the photoshot day in the muddy, wet quarry I have had a few squeaks coming out from under the front of the prado.

This has been doing my head in, so today I decided to sort it out. I removed the front tyres and the brake calipers. Next were the discs and time fir a good clean up of all the parts. I found some large rocks jammed between the discs and the brake backing plates, once removed I managed to straighten the backing plates back to the standard shape. After this clean up and the panelbeating, I reassembled the brakes.

I checked all the bushes in the front end. The entire underside of the car was steamcleaned to remove and grit last weekend. During the week I noticed some squeaks when the suspension moved about. I was pretty sure these squeaks were caused by small bits of grit and rubbish in the control arm bushes, so with the arms at full droop on the car stands, I smashed a heap of nulon silicon spray into all the bushes in the front end.

Seems to have sorted out the noises now, I guess time will tell. This might assist someone else having the same problem, who knows ?
