120 Winch Mount

Hi,
I am looking for a winch mount for my 120 Land Cruiser in the UK, but I am not having much success.

I have been offered the TBR at £907 which seems a lot for £40 of steel and I have been offered a Freeways bumper at £700, but i am not sure I want a full on bumper.

Does anyone one have any suggestions for a sensibly priced mount in the UK/Europe

Not sure what you are trying to mount the winch mount to so pretty hard to comment. Assuming you already have something that the winch mount could be located in how about heading to an engineering group and have them build something for you.

Here is a link to another site showing the TBR fitted to a 90 series style Prado. I seem to recall the same info being posted here. This appears to be mounted directly to the chassis with the standard bumper cut out to allow it to fit:

The TBR is a hidden style winch mount, which conforms to your regulations and is inclusive of all the structural framework that we have already included within out big bullbars, I would assume that due to "testing" and design would be why the price of one of these winch mounts would be up around the same price as one of the large ARB or TJM winch bullbars.

However, at over £900 - the photos I saw on the UK toyota pages certainly don't seem to show what that all that money buys you... :shock: :shock:

As for alternatives. wouldn't be entirely sure! As I believe the UK regulations stipulate that our bullbars are illegal over your way?

Sorry for not being clear.

I guess I was hoping that someone knew of options for mounting a winch. The TBR mount would be ok, but I did not want to pay so much for it. There is no way it can be worth AU$1400 or £907 GBP. I still need to buy the winch !

A top quality land rover one would only be £200 so I was hoping to find something competitive. So I was hoping someone knew of another brand more realistically priced.

I was hoping to fit a discrete style mount, but did not want the hassle of fabricating from scratch, I can get a generic mount plate for £35 but then I would have to work out a way to mount it.

Any Ideas?
