  • Prado 120 Sovereign Bullbar

    Hi Guys,

do you know how on earth you go about buying these? I've searched everywhere on the net and all that I found is a couple of second hand ones on eBay (in Sydney) and that's it!

I'm in Melbourne and want either a new one or very good second hand one. Please let me know!

    Re: Prado 120 Sovereign Bullbar

Good Luck. I do not think they make these any more.
2nd hand is the BEST way to go, unless you want to buy an ARB or the like.
The ARB bar is/was cheaper than the Sov bar new..

Don't buy one, they r very hard too look after, best buying a clouir coded bar from one of the aftermarket guys.

Wish I had ordered an ARB bar instead of the Sovereign.

I reckon they look brilliant! Have a friend with an 09 Prado who got his ex factory on a graphite cruiser and looks perfect... my dad has a 200 series with the colour coded arb bar and it looks horrible, his old 100 series with the alloy bar was also a nice look.

What do you mean by hard to look after? Do you have to polish it or something?

IMHO they are impossible to keep clean. I have tried many different products and a lot of sweat to no avail. The hoops are not too bad but as to the alloy base I have yet to see a good result after they have aged a short time. Would love to be proved wrong.
BTW my comments refer to the now defunct BOCAR bar. Don't know what the subsequent replacement is like.
Some past discussion on this and other forums about this issue.

I simply rang a Toyota dealer.
They said they are available and quote "we can do you a good deal"

                Still well over $2k though

Wow, $2k? I am sure if you ring around, ARB will be cheaper and look better too, IMHO....

They must have a few sitting in their parts shelves taking up a bit of room!

Well that idea may be going out the window after all.

I'm still chasing my first prado and today missed out on an '08 D4D with 18,000km on the clock. The guy was selling for 47,500. Didn't get there in time, sold in 1 day! GRRRR

Best price Ive been able to get for an ARB fitted with fogs and not colour coded is still just under $2k.
Add an extra $250 for colour coding.
                      TJM is about $200 cheaper.
