Im sure its only there for anyone (ie; small child) who gets locked in the rear of the vehicle and cannot get out. I know the Prado has an internal door release but they put them there as a legal requirement. Im sure I could remove it but, just havent got around to it yet.

And its not taking up much room!!
I have heard its illegal to have children/passengers in the 3rd row with a Cargo barrier On, alternatively if using the 3rd row with barrier, length should be 900mm between passenger in sitting down position and barrier.

      Hope this helps.
      Cheers,

            righty O....
spent three hours today with a mte of mine, Brett the manager of Opposite Lock Cairns around home fitting the Milford Cargo Barrier....

first job was removing all inner skins and floor..

then mark out the holes and drill away!!

            then mount the brackets...

then fit everything back in its place...actually gave me a good opportunity to get all the dust and crust cleaned out...

so there you go....have a crack not hard just fiddley....worth the effort i think.....

Bewdy Joey! It will come in handy for when I get around to mine.

BTW, I thought flat-head screws had gone out of fashion!

                        Nice Job Joey,

Ive found that you can stick a cross type wheel brace and some fan belts between the gap behind the seat and the wire and it doesn't rattle.

While you had the inner skins off did you notice if there was any room to fit a sub woofer in some where??

Russ there is no room on the drivers side on the updated models as that is where they stick the fan and ducting for the rear air con.

Thanks for the detailed write-up Joey. The Milford fitting instructions are very detailed and with the correct tools the install can be done with no problems. Once I get back from Fraser and get the fitting kit I'll be into it.

I have copies of the full sized and half height Milford barrier fitting instructions for 90 series (abobe format) if anyone requires them feel free to pm me.
