I've got an 03 gxl with the old 6cd stereo that has the tape player in it.
Does anyone know if this is compatable?

i dont think so because it uses the disc changer buttons to change the tracks on the ipod. Maybe give the company a call.

Hi, I am looking to installing an ipod interface into my 2003 120 series grande, anyone out there done this already? there are some on the market but use the under seat cd stacker port which I just dont like doing, I have a rule not to fix one thing by ruining another. Any help would be appreciated.

Just fitted one of these, and had no problems. Very easy install and great sound. Good value for money compared to the Vias units.

Just finished fitting one of these up, turnt on the acc to test it out, perfect sounds loud and music is good quality, go to press disc again to play my favorite pearljam cd f**k!! can't use the cd player if the adapters plugged in. Not happy!
Does anyone know why this is or how to fix it?

              Do you have the YT-M05?

If so on the back of the box is a schematic that shows switch between the adapter and the cd. It looks optional and seems to allow changes between the cd changer and ipod. BUT, it seems more like for use with an external cd changer.

The idea of the adapter is that it uses the disc change buttons to change between playlists on your ipod. So if you have six playlists on ipod you effectively have six 'discs'.

              Does that make sense?

Also are you using the 3.5mm jack or the dedicated ipod connector?

Yeah i saw the schematic on the back of the box but the harness i recieved didn't have the switch. yes i understand how it tricks the stereo so it thinks it's a cd but in the product description it sort of implies that the adapter will not affect normal cd operation.
I have been using both the 3.5mm jack and the dedicated ipod plug.
                  cheers

                      Frustrated and disappointed.

Tried the install of the caripodcables.com.au product this afternoon and the plugs don't match.

Does anyone know if this product is suitable for the 6 stacker on the 2006 Grande?

Please see my plug below and let me know if I got ripped off:

Doesn't the website say it doesn't fit certain satnav models?

I emailed caripod before the purchase and they pointed me in the direction of the model to buy.

I have since emailed them explaining the issue and I'm awaiting a response. Hopefully they can sort me out.

Good news: The plug now fits

Bad news: With all stuffing around with the stereo, it now longer turns on. Nor does the clock above it. All fuses are fine and nothing else seems effected. So have I broken something or is there some kind of factory reset similar to the electric windows or something??
