    They didn't provide any paper work as such for this but the guy that I spoke to said they can't sell this in Australia unless it's compliant.
    I hope that I can get away with the receipt that shows I purchased it from an Australian registered business, not a muck up job that I did in the shed.

      That's something I was going to ask the seller. What do you think iantz, it's hard to say no to a saving of nearly a grand when your either on a budget or not.

          Hmmm. I don't know that their advice is actually the truth. That's like saying a tire shop can't sell you a set of rubber that's more than 15mm larger than manufacturer specs because its illegal. Clearly they do sell these to 4x4 owners and fit them at the buyers request. Doesn't make them legal though.

          Dan, in my opinion I wouldn't tempt fate. Lets say you did have a major accident, the car was inspected for insurance purposes, and they said they wouldn't pay out as the bull bar had no specifications regarding it being airbag compliant. Your $1000 saving on the bar just turned into a MASSIVE cost to you, with thousands of dollars damage that is not covered.

          I am happy for someone to correct me on this. I would imagine the ARB bars etc specify somewhere, somehow, that they are compliant. Same for the other reputable bars. If not, how could any manufacturer prove this were so? Maybe someone with an ARB or TJM bar can tell us what sort of documentation comes with it??

                        Correct, on the inside of the wings from memory.

                        What ever happened to the bloke that started this thread? last word he was getting it painted and fitted, and then he has dropped of the face of the earth. Maybe it was so bad he couldn't face putting up pics of it?
