Have you got the ARB or IPF fogs?
i got the ipf fogs and ipf spotties with the bar. the brackets for the bar didnt have a recovery hook section on them which is disappointing. i have got the guy i bought it off looking at changing the brackets over so i do. i am just waiting to hear what he finds. he has access to a lot of bars, winches, lights and other bits and pieces

have you extended your breathers yet? thats something else i wanna do one day

i wanted to do my lights yesterday, no luck. today i thought, but no, just got home from going with the daughter to look at laptops she needs to buy. not sure who is going to give me a job next to do to stop me going downstairs to the garage. i am going to run out of daylight the way i am going. i would be happy to meet up if it suited you, let me know. saturdays are normally busy with sons soccer and at moment every 2nd sunday he is in a knockout state cup comp. next game this coming weekend, so being free only every 2nd sunday its the 26th june. maybe need to pm rather than rabbit on here, sorry mods.

so back on topic: did you end up fitting a winch to your bar yet? is there a specific connector available from the prado fog wires to the arb winch bar wires? or is it a matter of having to join the two together in your own way, ie splice, solder, connector etc etc?

      • Great to see you got it done at last. Minor point but did you know the parker/indicators are on backwards - I noticed because mine were the wrong way round to start.

how funny is that. i just had a look at the photo after it was posted and realised it was an earlier photo when the parker/indicator thing was wrong. It was after this photo was taken that i noticed they were wrong so when i went to connect the cables i fixed it up. will need to find a later photo one side of mine was right, one was wrong

            • PradOz, I notice you have a similar UHF Aerial to mine - does yours vibrate like a crazy thing over the smallest of bumps? Mine seems to go into resonance at the centre coil section - not sure how long it will last vibrating like that.

vibrates like mad since fitting it to this bar. before that no issues at all on the nudge bar or previous toyo bar on the 90. was watching it go mad as i was cruising down the freeway on sunday and wondering what to do to settle it down

                • Same here mate, no issues before mounting on the bullbar. I'm expecting it to fall off before long then look to replace it with a solid aerial maybe - must search for an aerial thread for recommendations

                  • I have the same fitting for my aerial on my sahara bar and have the same issue. Can't be good for the core of the aerial.

                            • regarding the "recovery loops" on the "chassis mount brackets" for the deluxe bar, i chased up the local arb stockist for a price to supply, supply/fit new brackets with the loops as mine doesnt have them.

they just called me with the price. about $300 supply/fit because the whole bar has to come off, allow to remove the uhf aerial and new captive nuts and bits and pieces blah blah blah

so then i ask "why cant you use the nuts and bits and pieces i already got?" answer lost me, as all i want to do is swap the same shape bracket over except the new one will have a loop hanging off the end.

so then i ask for a break up of cost. "$170 labour, $11 captive nuts, and each bracket with the loop is a massive $35 each and i am not sure where the rest is other than bits and pieces??"

my question is why cant i remove 1 bracket at a time? I would have to undo 5 bolts on the outside of the "chassis mount brace" (the bit that goes up at an angle and towards the front) which mounts to the "chassis mount brackets" but leave the single bolt on the inside to keep it connected. I would think i would need a jack/support under the bar to keep it supported in position. then remove 2 bolts from side of "chassis mount brackets" and swap over.

does this make any sense or am i completelty wrong??

                              instructions for fitting are here:
                              http://www.arb.com.au/media/products...03/fitting.pdf

i am going to try ring another arb store, maybe head office if i find their number, and see what the actual individual price is delivered to me. if the local supplier gets them and sells them to me for 35 each surely its the same or less, which at $70 is cheaper then the outback ideas $120+ price for aftermarket which doesnt fit anyway

                              any suggestions?

                              • has anyone fitted headlight protectors when they have the ARB bar?

if so how do you attach the covers at the bottom where the clip normally loops onto the top edge of the front bumper at the bottom of the headlight?
