Thanks guys for the replies. I will post some pics over the weekend hopefully if i can get them finished. Too many jobs, not enough time, might have to take some mid week flexi time.

I agree. I think it is an inevetable mod for those who do what we do. I will be doing my drawers soon, and this thread has been good value so far.

Hi all, thought I would try to post some pics of the drawers that I have been working on. Just need a couple of handles and some minor adjustments. So far I am quite happy with them. All up it cost less than $300 and a couple of weekends tinkering. Thanks to mumsrig for inspiration.

Thanks mumsrig, I haven't tracked down the latches as yet but have seen them on a website called UES australia. I have a friend that is trying to get some for me through his cabinet making business. If he can't get them I will give the others a try. Thanks for your help though. I just have to work out a way of tying down my fridge now, not sure if I should use a slide or just tie down points. Any tips? Cheers. KMKPrado

I was looking at building a fridge slide, but I just haven't had the time.
Also was thinking about simply cutting some slots in the draw top and using a strap or two to hold the fridge down.
Here is my draw system I made over a period of time. Made the fridge slide lower so my daughter can open the fridge
without having to stand on the towbar or bumper. Draw holds my Maxair compressor, first aid kit and recovery gear etc etc.
Side storage holds rope, occy straps, shade awning anything I don't use that often.
Full setup made with 12mm marine ply covered with marine carpet.
To lock draw and frigde slide patio window locks were used and cupboard handles all from Bunnings.
Fridge and draw slides are from a local cabinet maker rated to 90kgs.
Left and right side storage hinged to carry all odd items

Another child slave for beer runs hey
looks pretty good Steve, I like the access to the sides.
I should have done that!
I notice that you have entertainment in the back for your kids too hey!
I just noticed this prado 120 series cargo storage system on Ebay. Looks decent and not a bad design. Thought someone might be interested. The item number is below.

I have finally had time to sit down and sort through some photos of my draw set up and fridge placement ( watching Bathurst and sorting during the adds) The fridge uses the small rear seat as my kids are 23 & 25
and would rather go out with boyfriends than us.....

Truly some inspiring work being done and kudos to those fella's who have taken the time to post their efforts on here!!!.
I too can't justify or afford the hexy prices the major players are asking for their systems. I was considering getting a sheetmetal worker to knock up some drawers out of sheetmetal and then building the rest of the frame with my welder and some angle . I have no idea how much this will cost but read an article in Overlander, it's been done and for under $500.
I'm seriously impressed with what i have seen here, you guys have inspired me, better pull my finger out.
