Howdy Craig
When you put them up you really always need to do it with the sun behind you as to maximize the area of shade. Now if you are setting up to be there all day that can be annoying as I always try to position the front of the car into the wind. For the fowxing I also have 2 zip in panels that can either be used as extra shade with use of 2 poles or wind breaks by just pegging them to the ground. As I haven't used either of the extra panels yet I cant show you a pic. But I have a dodgy pic for you from a manual

Another issue with ARB's set up is that if you want to attach the guide ropes is that you have to tie them on each time so will have to come up with a solution with this also.

I got some little aluminum carabiners from supercheap, $1 each, strong enough for this job and just clip in.

The choices, sizes and formats are all overwhelming. At one point I wanted a Foxwing but then I started to think I may want an ARB side and rear awning then Ironman's have had a few good positive comments.

After all that there is also the Black Widow awnings and SupaPeg as well. I am starting to lean to a Supapeg

But.....now SupaPeg has a a 2.5 meter out in a stand easy deluxe or Eco....oh for God's sake!!!!

Thanks to Santa I just picked up one of these this arvo. Very impressed. Comes complete with heavy duty stainless steel brackets and all necessary fixings. Bolted it up onto my Sportz bars as soon as I got home - dead easy! I was originally going for the Ironman but took one look at this one and had to have it. It is more than what we originally wanted to pay, but what makes it sweeter is it's a locally made, quality product.

sorry Craig, just confirming you went the 2.5 long? also have you mounted it on two bars? hows it going? (original post a while back now!)

yes 2.5 long is correct (x 2.0 out). It is mounted on the 2 sprts bars which are mounted 890mm apart to line up with the MAXTRAX mounting holes via a set of TraxRax. Very happy with the strength and quality of the Supapeg awning and would pay the extra again if I had to buy another one.... Like a lot of guys on here, I have installed a 2m length of LED lighting with a remote dimmer which works extremely well.
