  • Engel bolt on cooler

Having 4 kids we don't have any room in the Prado for a fridge, Engel makes a bolt-on cooler and I'm thinking of custom building a cooler to fit the space behind the 3rd row seats, has anyone tried this or have any thoughts on the matter... short of selling one or more of the kids to fund the project.

It may be possible to make the enclosure out of polyurethane foam and fiberglass it , much like how a surfboard is made.
I made my own fridge for my campertrailer out of a cheap rotomoulded esky and a danfoss unit from a camper bus fridge.
Both engel and danfos ( same as waeco uses ) make modular units for custom builds.
Heres a link to my fridge build on myswag.

Another option might be to get hold of a old 15L engel for the fridge unit as they are pretty narrow and may suit the space behind 3rd row.

You might be able to fit a CF25 Waeco back there... Much easier, if it's big enough.
