Upgrading 03 Grande Satnav to another Toyota unit

I just put one of these units into my 05 GXL yesterday, I dont have a reverse camera yet but its a great upgrade from the original 6 stacker, plays music from a phone via blutooth and has usb/aux input. Very happy with it.

Next mod may have to be a camera now that I've got the screen.

Mine is in, plug and play in an '08.

If you have the new firmware in the headunit, when you're on a call you can press the seek/track button to modify the mic gain.

Hey Everyone,

What a great thread! Good work! Ill be doing this for sure, was thinking about putting something in that has 4x4 maps as well. Does the new head deck do navigation as well?

No the units mentioned here don't do navigation. And no genuine Toyota units does offroad navigation. I use an android tablet for that.

This is just what I'm looking for. I need to replace the dodgy digoptions unit I've got in mine. I now have a tom tom running ttmaps for my off road stuff so I don't need GPS but need something with a screen for the reverse camera.

Hey AMTS, Yeah i was meant HEMA or something when I was refering to offroad, just not sure what type of new head deck I would like. According to the link there are some genuine models with normal navigation, although they are quiet expensive $1500 ebay

See the first post, if it does you'd have to find an adaptor as there are no RCA connections on the headunit itself.

Has anyone with these units had any trouble importing their phone book into the unit when a phone is connected via bluetooth?
I have an iphone, I think it's the 4s, when I go theough the menu with blurtooth conected it gives me the option to transfer the phone book but even if I leave it transfering for an hour or so it seems to get stuck on the screen where it says "transfering phone book".
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I think it only accepts 100 numbers so it could be getting stuck trying to consume your phone book. I could be talking crap but I am pretty sure I read that in the manual.

Try to copy all the contacts to the phone itself (most contacts are saved on the sim card) and the address book on the stereo should be able to pick them all up. Maybe, I know it works for most stereo's.

Prado 2004 Grande Fijutsu Ten PQZ60-00050 back panel connection

I have Toyota Prado Grande 2004 with Cd changer ( external).
I have Fijutsu Ten PQZ6-00050 SAT NAV model. connection description of the unit as per Fijutzu ten people is as follows. Opps cannot see any tab for attachements. Any idea how to attach pics?????

I'm planning to get reverse cam, ipod interface ( GROM- I3 Kit) and WD media center installed. I have 15" wide screen DVD player already mounted( bought couple of years ago from China).Media center will play movie on DVD player and audio will be routed to the main unit through the IPOD interface. In this setup no more hassels of carrying DVD pack. Bought WD ITB Media center from Dicksmith Today for $129.
