Probably not much if you have the old version where the CD stacker is under the passenger's seat and the Satnav DVD is under the driver's seat.

Hi all, i have just picked up an 04 Grande (late 04, 5 spped box) and have been following the threads. Toyota reckon my modl cant take a camera and does not have bluetooth. No cd changer or sat nav dvd either that i can find. Head unit has a cd nd tape deck behind the sat nav screen. Is this the sae unit being discussed above? How many models of sat nav were there? Looking at the dig option unit (had one in the Pathie that worked ok). Toyota dig option one good, bad or indifferent? Thanks

Just browsing to see if its easy to find a reverse wire to connect to.
F.y.i, I purchased from eBay, W602C, Toyota, cd, DVD, radio, Bluetooth, iPod/phone plug, full multimedia including GPS, remote and color reverse camera for $242.00. 2 years warranty, send to melb, for any warranty not china.
Easy to fit right in, works well.
It has RCA, sd card slots, USB plugs, comes with igo maps, I assume u can add offroad maps, via sd card, it supports other maps.

Anyway, I quickly fitted it last week, now I want to fit he camera, question is..... Is there a reverse wire close to the back of the units? for the o.e cams? Or where do I find it?
Just need to connect that, Easier to ask here before I go out n 35degrees, and where would you take the 12 volts at the rear from? Towbar loom?

              Hi Gents,

Just purchased the W602C, Toyota, cd, DVD, radio, Bluetooth, iPod/phone, coffee machine, milk shake maker head unit from ebay and fitted it up. Happy with it just wondering, where do I connect(solder) the 'brake' cable to which i assume is to enable DVD/Video playback so as to not impact the driver? I want the video playback to be enabled even when the vehicle is moving. Any ideas?

              Many Thanks

Jamie...If you arent planning on disabling the playback, its either gotta be tied to ground or +12v...Can you try it with the unit still hanging out of the dash ? If its handbrake, I suspect that would be grounded when activated so maybe you have to tie the line to +12v...

My 3rd party unit, I had to tie the line to +12V to disable this "safety feature" :-)

Has anyone tried one of these 2011 Toyota Units. I am only really after the Bluetooth for phone and playing music. Don't know if I want to spend the extra coin on the model with the reverse camera.

Basic one is $250 at Toyota Dealership

Mid Range was either $400 or $450 not sure if that's with the camera

Can't see why it wouldn't work. I sold my OE unit and it was fitted in a 2005 no probs. I paid $300 for my unit...

You will need an adapter for the antenna connection.

I need an antenna as well AMTS.

Looking at a fibreglass one to match the UHF one but they are expensive, between $155 and $195 for an am/fm antenna.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I figure better than creating a new one.

I've got a Toyota headunit like amts and d4d with the small screen. I've got a reverse camera too non Toyota and I'm not sure what plugs or adapter I need. the camera has a yellow rca plug and a couple of cables I'm guessing is for the triggers.
also not sure if you guys have figured out how to transfer contacts over cos it's not working for me. thanks in advance

                            Hi colcho,

Firstly you are probably better off getting the OEM ones off the internet (look for Eclipse BEC 113 or the older ones) as that is more plug and play if your Prado is 2008+ (they are prewired for reverse cameras except for the reverse trigger wire).

Anyway, to do it with an aftermarket one with an RCA - RCA is obviously camera in +/- (you need a harness to retro fit this)
The other cables should be a +12V and -12V (feed power somewhere off the cig light and extend to back)
Reverse Signal +/- (off the reverse white light)

At the Head Unit (PZQ060-00051 or 50)side these are the pinouts you need (it is a 20 pin plug):

5 - Reverse Signal in (this needs the positive reverse signal feed - I think the position is described in earlier posts of the thread).
6 - Steering Wheel Control Ground
7 - Steering Wheel Control (Seek and Volume)
8 - Steering Wheel Control (Mode)

                            11 - Video (+)
                            12 - Video(-)
                            13 - Camera (+) (6V)
                            14 - Camera (-) (6V)

Good Luck! If you are not technical enough or uncomfortable doing this, get an auto sparky, charges about $100 or so.

Disclaimer: I am not an auto electrician mechanic so take my advice with a grain of salt!

Thanks for that willister. I've managed to find a solution (I think). I've gotten the Toyota PZQ60-00110 wiring harness which should plug to the back of my unit, and has the female plug for the 4 pin camera plug. I have ordered one of the 4 pin camera plug adaptors to a female RCA which should hopefully work... Will update you guys!
