No the colour of the buttons don't change with the screen. That might be the difference!

AMTS - I bought the Toyota OE reverse cam which is a rebadged Fujitsu Ten, Toyota part number PZQ90-60040.
Dragonfly's wiring is sorted. The purple is a speed sense and not required the green requires the reverse signal which comes from connection J23 which is red with a black trace. My Prado

To make it simple for the next pigeon to try this... The green wire is spliced onto the red wire with the black trace that is visible
in the big loom on the left hand side inside the dash. The purple wire is not required.
There is a step-by-step wiring and installation guide on another forum, but the OEM camera comes with idiot-proof instructions... the only thing that's not obvious is the splicing. All sorted now. Thanks D4D for the assistance and AMTs for the informative thread.

Are you going to share the connection mods or keep it to yourself?
Any camera will do as long as it works and I can see the kids, etc.
The Tarago currently has the reverse camera displayed on the rear view mirror and it is pretty poor due to not having enough brightness/contrast to overcome the mirror view out the back of the rear windscreen. No problems at night but can't really see much during the day. Having the display as part of the stereo is much better.
Plus, I'm looking at a dashcam that is part of the rear view mirror
