Hi Everyone,
I am in the market for a winch and am tossing up between the Warn 9.5XP-s and the Warn XDC9500-s.
Does anyone have any experience in either? What are your thoughts?
I had decided on the XP, then someone told me to have a look at the XDC.
The XP has a 6hp motor and a quicker line pull speed, the XDC has a 4.6hp motor and a lower current draw, as well as a thermo cut out to prevent damage from overheating.
I like the thought of the faster line pull of the XP, but also like the idea of less current draw on the XDC. I don't know if the thermo cutout would be a hindrance or a good thing when your stuck and want to get out in a hurry?
From experience, which characteristic is more important when it comes time to using the winch?
ARB tell me they have sold 10x more XDCs than XPs in the last 3 months. I think that may be because government departments like the idea that useless fools who don't bother to learn how to use a winch can't burn it out with the thermo cut out.
Cheers,
Stuey
