Heres an image of how the platform fits up to the OEM rails. The platform will come with the cross bars which accept the standard Rhino SXB feet/mounts which I already had from my original sportz bars

Not as easy to answer as you might think. I already had the legs from my Toyota 3 Bar HD rack so I only had to get the platform itself. I paid list price for the platform ($739) but I also bought an ARB fridge and the Rhino Awning (all at list price). Having paid list price for everything I then got a fair amount of stuff for free, hence I can't really say what I paid for the platform.

Very little if none noticed in the cabin. Having a Grande, if I slide the sun roof shutter back, I can hear it and of course more so when the sun roof is open (which is rare).

Hey Andrew, Im thinking about getting the #44103B and the Toyota/Rhino HD bars, thanks for the tip off on the Toyota spares trade price, I think this model is the same size as the one you fitted to your 120? 1928 x 1376 obviously I want to go black.
Was it much work to fit and can you tell me if you needed to modify it much? I don't have a rivet gun either...

I've gone with the 42103 to get more width. It has an additional plank which would make it more useful for me. I currently run 3x 1375mm Aerobars with 2000x1100 old style Rhino platform and don't find the Aerobars too wide. So this new rack should be OK (well I hope so anyway).

The Pioneer platform rack has pre-drilled holes to suit the centre distance between the cross bars. Because the 42103 is not meant for the 120/150 Prado. I will have to drill my own holes, or at least utilise an existing hole for one cross bar and drill the remaining holes.

Anyway, hope this 'risk' will work out well. I've always been a big fan of the Pioneer platform rack so finally took the plunge after getting a great deal on it.

Photos to come when it arrives.

You won't need a rivet gun anymore as the new design is all bolt and nut assembly. All I needed to do was mark the new holes into the platform to match the distance of our crossbars.

Thanks, I'm assuming the platform just bolts on to the HD bars with the channel nuts or something in that location.

No, there's no need to use the HD bars.

The platform comes with 3 loose half height bars that looks like the top half of the HD bars. These are placed with the channel opening facing downwards. These mount directly to the Rhino legs.

The HD bars that come with Toyota's kit is spare for you to use in other ways.

thank for your patience, I knew I was missing something. I think this is why I was confused, the 42102B includes "Bars"
                      http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products...1236mm-_42102b
So I guess you just add the gutter mount feet (HD feet). I was hoping to use 3 bars, with a RRT and other accessories it seems a better idea. So I could buy this and 6 feet and be done with it.

But the one which is 1928 x 1376 (44103B) is specific to SBX legs and seems to be 2 crossbars only. Also there is no 120 compatibility so I don't know if the SBX legs would be in the right place if I did decide to settle for 2 crossbars..

                      http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products...1376mm-_44103b

                      their website is pretty hopeless..

                      Cheers

OK looking at the fitting instructions for the 44103B, it is not what you want. The 42103B is what you want.

                            Hi Andrew,
I a little confused (or thick or both). I Have a 150 GXL with factory roof rails, and two factory SXB-type bars clamped to the rails. I added an extra SXB bar because of previous carrying requirements. Looking at the RR catalog, it seems I now want a 44102 or 42102 platform (both seem to be 1928x1236). Do these fit on top of the SXB Sportz bars, or do I remove those three bars and somehow fit the platform to the existing three (six) legs?

As I'm worried about overall height, I was also wondering whether I should instead remove the factory rails entirely and fit the platform kit which is designed for the GX with no roof rails. I guess this would be a more expensive exercise, and nobody seems to know what the overall height difference would be.

                            Cheers

                            Dave

The 44102 comes with 2 Aero bars similar to what you already have. REfer to the fitting instructions here http://vpm.cdn.rhinorack.com.au/Inst...ioneer_SXB.pdf

You will need to reuse the SXB legs off your current crossbars and mount them to the 44102. You only need 2 crossbars and not 3 if you are mounting to the roof rails. The roof rails are curved so using 3 crossbars won't make it level.

Note that the weight capacity of the roof rails is 75kg. You are better off removing the roof rails and use RLCP type legs and feet to mount the 42102 or 42103 to get 100kg weight capacity on the roof.

Note that Toyota's quoted weight capacities include the roof rack/platform that you put on.
