I believe that, as you have provided a link to an article on a public forum (as opposed to a copy) , that there is no copyright issue and, as such, should not cause any legal issue.

It is, however, an excellent warning for owners of that batch of Hayman Reese towbars ... preferrably before disaster strikes as could well have been the this owners case.

That metal fatigue looks quite amazing as it appears to have let go in the middle first and then gone to the ends. There's obviously a lot of forces at work here and, if the construction isn't up to scratch, breakages are inevitable.

Thats a real concern. I have a Hayman Reese bar and regularly tow our 1,500+kg Camper up and down the east coast.
I have had a real good look under the bar this afternoon, but I can not find the plate, I think it is up under the bumper bar. All looks good.....but how do I now check. I shudder at the thought of the Camper comming adrift at 110kph on the Pacific Highway......
