      Sand Grabbers

I too fitted a set of sand grabbers for the front and rear for our trip to Fraser. These worked a treat. What I did do was stick some two inch duct tape down where the mats sit beside the sills and up the sides of the footwells. This stopped any sand getting down between the mats and the sills. Used a small hand broom to brush the excess that got caught here and brushed all the sand out that was caught by the mats.
Also the centre rear mat is part of the left rear mat, it is longer than the driver side rear and just goes across the hump and velcros onto the rhs rear mat.
150 Vx D4D, Deluxe Arb bar, winch, Hayman Reece Towbar, UBP, P3 Tekonsha, 'n stuff.
"When cooking on a camp fire it must be cool enough to cook on so it needs to burn down to coals, at least in parts. It is customary to drink beer while waiting for the fire to cool down.
I recommend starting with a very big fire"-Vince.

Sounds like a good idea.

I've just come back from Broome and the Dampier Peninsula area. With three kids going in and out on dirt and sand I was sure that our new 'ivory' coloured interior was about to become a patchwork mix of cable beach white and pindan cliff red colour. However, after getting everything out of the car, a good vacuuming and wipe... the carpet looks still new. Amazing. These things are great.!! In my view, a definite first add accessory.

I got my sandgrabba mats on monday and installed them in the prado without telling my partner about the purchase 8) He only just realised they were there last night and his first comment was "for the money you paid for them they look cheap" When I look at them I can see why he says that..... I think they are a bit over priced for what they are.

                Sorry... I disagree. :|

IMO they blend in pretty well and certainly are worth their money considering the protection they give to the interior floor carpet. I reckon mine have already paid for themselves already by providing good protection from 2 weeks of abuse from three kids and two adults bringing in heaps of deep red dirt and wet sand into the cabin area. I though our floor carpets would be stained already... but no. The mats are easily cleaned and, once removed, show how well they keep the floor clean. They are the best that I've used so far. We don't even notice them now and I am now starting not to even worry about the state of my kids feet anymore each time they kids climb into the car knowing the 'grabbas are in place!

I guess horses for courses. :?

                  Re: Sandgrabba Mats

                  Firstly, apologies for my ignorance.

I'm a little mystified... from earlier posts, these things cost around $300. Yet good rubber mats cost around $40 (I think that's what I paid for mine). Admittedly they don't have such high side-walls and don't allow me to keep a sand-dune inside the car... but I'm still wondering how the SandGrabba's could be ~$260 better.

My $40 mats work very well too, though I never cared to mention them up until now.

Sorry gang, I know you're proud of your SandGrabba's and all. I hope I'm just missing the point and someone will set me straight

                    Re: Sandgrabba Mats

Well I dont disagree with you about the protection that they provide, but for some mouled plastic I think $250 for the front and rear is a bit steep. :? Then again it serves me right for living in the accessory section of prado point

P.S I get my bullbar installed tomorrow! 8)

I understand completely! My mats were about $40 to but thanks to prado point and everyone saying how good the sandgrabba mats were I just couldnt resist the purchase  But really..... when you think about it..... The sandgrabba mats only cover about an inch more then what my old mats covered so I was probably best off keeping the old mats and spending the $250 on some other accessory!

You can get them cheaper than $250. I think I got mine for around $220 delivered express post.

I got the heavy duty Prado mats with our new car and definitely prefer the Sandgrabbas by comparison. Taste and preference are clearly personal choices - so everyone's choice will be slightly difference. But the reviews for the 'Grabbas are pretty consistent and certainly proven from my point of view 8)

Upon reflection, our Sand Grabbas have already performed well and we are happy with their price considering their ease to clean, their looks and peace of mind with keeping our car clean from the abuse of our three kids feet!
